Lucifer may still have some life left. According to Deadline, Warner Bros. TV is shopping the cancelled FOX series around for a fourth season.
As reported earlier, the supernatural crime drama has been cancelled after three seasons. The cast includes Tom Ellis, Lauren German, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Rachael Harris, Aimee Garcia, Tricia Helfer, Scarlett Estevez, and Tom Welling.
Per Deadline, Lucifer‘s production studio Warner Bros. TV is interested in shopping the series around to other networks for a fourth season. Currently, Hulu owns the streaming rights to the show, so that’s one option. Additionally, the crime drama is based on a DC Comics property and DC is launching a new streaming service, DC Universe, later this year.
One of FOX‘s other cancelled series, Brooklyn Nine-Nine, was recently picked up by NBC for another season, but will Lucifer have the same luck?
Ellis and others connected with the show have vowed to keep fighting to save the series. The actor who plays the show’s title character learned the news from showrunner Joe Henderson. Ellis had just attended a fan convention in Rome and was on a high. He was initially shocked and then devastated. When the cancellation news went public, he was overwhelmed by the uproar and love expressed by the fans.
He notes that the tsunami response has helped to create a conversation about saving the show. He notes that, “I don’t want to promise anything for anybody, because there are so many things that have to align for things to happen…,” he ventures. “But I didn’t have hope, and I do have hope now. And as long as there is hope, I will keep fighting. Because I think that’s what our fans want us to do.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Lucifer? Would you watch the series on another network or streaming service? Should it be saved?
I would love to see a season 4 and more!
Fox really left the Lucifer fans hanging.
I would qould contrat any scream tv media who picks up the Lucifer SHOW. I LOVE THAT SHOW.#SAVELUCIFER #PICKUPLUCIFER
I’m already watching Lucifer on Hulu. I would subscribe to ANY service that picked up Lucifer for additional seasons!!
I Love The show I watch it currently on hulu but I would be willing to watch it on another streaming service. If I had to pay for some kind of cable probably that as well since I Only stream my TV shows.
I would watch Lucifer on any channel or any streaming device any time of day or day of the week! It’s my mandatory feel great time!
Oh hell yes I would watch Lucifer on another network I is one of the most positive uplifted shows on TV. All inclusive. Has terrific female characters ,writers and directors.
Without a doubt!!!!! Fox did what they do regularly, cancelling a show not meeting their business model in order to give another show a chance. It happened three years ago, making it possible to air Lucifer. That’s what tv networks do.
Of course I will watch Lucifer, on any format. It is an excellently written show with Tom Ellis being able show case his full range of talents. In a world full of reality TV, we need something that can reach people on an intellectual and emotional level.
Lucifer is the best show since ages. I would watch the show whereever it goes. Pay for any streaming service that it takes. I love this show, it is funny, emotional und really original.
No matter who picks the show up, I will follow. I just want it to happen! #SaveLucifer #PickUpLucifer
Of course I will watch further seasons wherever I can find them. These three first ones have been great to watch, since I was really upset and tired of so many series dealing about murders, war, sad or psycothic subjects. I need something to comfort when I get home after a hard day out there, and their screenplays bring me some sort of comfort, hapiness, hope and relax, and there’s always something to think about which helps personal growth. Though I’ve never been a TV series fan, as much as to fight to be saved when networks cancel them, I… Read more »
#SaveLucifer #PickUpLucifer for a Season 4.
As a German fan, who already watches the show in Amazon Video/Prime, I’d be more than happy to watch many more seasons of Lucifer through another network oder streaming service. The latter wold be the best choice in my opinion, because by now it is pretty obvious that Lucifer is a show that has millions of fans worldwide. Making it available via streaming service would reflect the substance of this conclusion.
In every universe I will watch . I love this show from the pilot and I can’t imagine not having season 4 and more. I will.. I Will watch it.
I would watch it wherever it goes. I would even subscribe to a streaming service JUST for Lucifer. It was basically the only reason I watched Fox, and if it moves somewhere else I would be happy to give its new home my money instead.
