When Lucifer premiered in early 2016, many people wanted the show to be cancelled before they even saw it, at least in part because of the subject matter. While the show’s ratings weren’t great, they were good enough for the FOX series to be renewed. Will it do well enough to get a third season renewal? Stay tuned.
On the Lucifer TV show, Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis) has abandoned his throne and retired to Los Angeles. Following a brutal murder outside of his nightclub, he starts to have feelings of compassion for the first time in billions of years and ends up helping a homicide detective (Lauren German). In season two, Lucifer and his brother (D. B. Woodside) team up to find their mother (Tricia Helfer) who recently escaped from Hell. The rest of the cast includes Rachael Harris, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, Aimee Garcia, and Scarlett Estevez.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
2/13 update: FOX has renewed Lucifer for a third season. Details here.

For comparisons: The first season of Lucifer averaged a 1.47 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.56 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the Lucifer TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for a third season?
This show has to be renewed. It is an amazing shown, I love the characters, the humor and all its dark glory.
Needs to be renewed!
Leave it on!!! Awesome show. Writing is funny & allows the viewer another view of Lucifer.
Lucifer the ONLY show I watch & look forward to watching! I’m genuinely happy when it comes on and I’m always left wanting more.
I would be devastated if it was cancelled! It’s not just your typical crime-drama, its sexy, funny, with original and intriguing surrounding plot lines!
Renew! For the sanity of a Stay-at-Home Mom
It is so lovely! Please keep the third season!

Please renew Lucifer for a third season I love this show.
Love love love Lucifer show please bring it back for season three!
Love this show! The main characters have a chemistry together. I like the transition from devil to human. They did not do enough advertising! I’ve been telling more and more friends about it and they have started to watch and stream the episodes.
For the love of heaven and hell, and all things between. Renew for a season 3 and 4! Give it time for people to stumble across this show. I just found out about it a couple days ago and I’m almost done with season 2. Most people don’t have cable now days. Do more advertising. I stumbled on this by luck. Would of been nice to see a commercial for lucifer while watching other shows on hulu. Come on, Renew!
Please please don’t cancel this show. It has everything: mystery, romance and presents an intriguing look at the idea of a devil with human qualities. I love the show!

My wife and I love this show. Please renew it!
