CBS is saving MacGyver. Today, the network announced they’ve given a full season order to the reboot series.
Based on the ’80s action drama, the show stars Lucas Till as a young Angus MacGyver, a government agent who uses his unique problem-solving skills to save people’s lives. The cast also includes George Eads, Sandrine Holt, Tristin Mays, and Justin Hires.
Though MacGyver‘s ratings have declined a little since its premiere in September, the show still brings in strong numbers. Four episodes in, the drama has received an average of 1.30 in the 18-49 demo and 8.890 million viewers.
In addition to MacGyver, CBS has also given a full season order to Kevin Can Wait and Bull.

What do you think? Are you watching MacGyver? How does it compare to the original series?
1st time on Griday nights since I can remember, we make sure we are home for MacGyvee. My son loves it and we enjoy the storylines that continue from episode to episode. Hope it’s picked up for season 2!!
EVEN People well over age 49 enjoy the work of this cast. The writers create an interesting variety of stories. We like the comic relief interspersed. Glad it’s renewed. Always different settings.
Loved watching the original with my dad, now my son watches the reboot with us. He LOVES it (and so do we). I hope they renew. Love learning more about the character.
I faithfully watched every episode of the original MacGyver series. I was wondering how the remake would be. As each episode came on, you found out more about Mac the person, which really didn’t come out in the original series.
The latest episode “Scissors” was really great. I really hope this show stays around for a while.
I like macGyver good show not
Boring keep it going
Please keep this show going, I love watching MCGyver…
I have enjoyed this show and I really think its great for kids
A very entertaining and captivating show. So happy to see a reboot of this show I so loved for many years. Angus also inspires my 13 yr. old son who loves science. There are really no major network shows that our youth can watch except shows like MacGyver. Keep this show going for a long time please.
Love the MacGyver reboot. Was a huge fan of the original, and now this new 21st century version! Bravo CBS!
what happened on this season
We loved the old show, and like the new. We liked, and miss Mac Gyver when he was out hiking or having fun in nature when he would be called up..not always the big city stuff..the new series has unfortunately lost the love of nature, it seems to be less wholesome. ..too city-fied . Okay otherwise.
I loved the original, and while this is kinda fun they have completely messed with or destroyed almost every single other character. No one acts like their original counter parts. It is annoying and constantly pulls me out of enjoying the show. I gave up on it.
Love this show. People over 49 count too. Please renew for season 2.
Like mcgyver but jack to corny needs to be settled down and the girl needs to get off the prison gig
I like the new version of macgyvet
and I was a big fan of the original
Please continue the reboot
I was a kid when the original Richard Dean Anderson MacGyver aired and I was a huge fan. I like this new 2.0 version very much. It’s great escapism and has earned a vaunted spot on my DVR to-do list!
Unbelievable. Biggest pile of crap released this season.
Huge dissapoinment!
