It’s clear that ABC’s Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD is the most-anticipated show of the season. Will it become a big ratings hit or will it be cancelled due to low ratings? We’ll have to wait to find out.
On Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD, Agent Phil Coulson (Clark Gregg) and a highly specialized team investigate cases of individuals exhibiting superhuman abilities. The rest of the cast includes Ming-Na Wen, Brett Dalton, Chloe Bennet, Iain De Caestecker, and Elizabeth Henstridge.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
5/8 update: Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD has been renewed for a second season by ABC.
Final season averages: 2.4 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 6.86 million total viewers.

Note: Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you like the SHIELD TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or be renewed for a second season?
Of course it should be renewed it’s a great show. Currently one of my favorite show on TV.
I hope the show goes to Netflix. This way it could leave loser A.B.C. behind. I have caught up with the series on d.v.r. This show has developed into a very interesting story. Phillip Coulson is one of the most interesting characters on t.v. This goes without even bringing up other extremely interesting characters on the show. Come on its A comic show. Of course the characters are invincible. But with this invincibility you also get character development. Not the same sappy storyline over and over. I can see this team flying off into the sunset and starting a whole… Read more »
Definitely renewed, I’m a marvel junkie and this show is how I get my fix in between movie releases. I will cry if its cancelled.
Agent of Shield , it should go on second season and some more seasons !!! Marvel rocks !! .. Anyway, this show is very good and damn good to see how the story is twisting and so interesting , how Hydra is well planned and go against Shield and like to see more Marvel movies go crossovers with TV ( Agent of Shield) to capture more audiences and more ratings !! looking forward to see second season !!!!
The development of the last episodes is more mature with the script. It makes more justice to the talent of the actors. The danger of a superhero concept, it is easy to fall into the ridiculous. Disney at the helm it is an advantage to the means, but also a disadvantage to preserve the family value and to moralizing everything. Please trust your talents dear CEO. S.V.P. Do not mixed the “Disney Park family values” with series if we want a credible and dramatic direction. Bravo for change towards more mature of the latest episodes. In this new direction, of… Read more »
yeah, cause who would want to watch a show with family values at 8 pm
hey Agents is a pretty darn good show!… its only in its first season and it started off very slowly… very slowly. but by midseason picked up nicely i think abc would have a series hit on their hands to rival ncis if given the chance especially if they keep closely following the marvel universe movies… please give this a secon season ABC -Chris
also every show in its infancy (season 1) has to establish the shows direction and path it ultimately takes slowing it own for the first half of the season was a smart move on Shield’s part to establish it as its own show not the avengers or anyone else in the marvel universe (though the tie ins with the movies an cameos by some of the actors o help ie Lady Sif ) and the upcoming Maria Hill its strong ties to marvel yet remaining its own show is a huge plus
It can’t figure out what kind of show it is… X files, spy show, Watchers? No focus… and boring. Really boring and the plot twists are not working. They should just cancel it.
It has a lot of potential and so far is nothing but disappointment.
I was hoping that this was something I could watch with my tween son who is into star wars, iron man tech gadgets etc etc. He watched five or ten minutes of the first episode, got up and never came back.
I do like the how
“Mayday .. mayday … We are going down and not even Captain 2 can do anything to save us ” . The writers are desperate and they throw in anything to stirs up the show ( Remember the ” Family guy ” killed off the dog “Brian” and they got back fire ) in hoping the show will get pick up for second season but the rating is continuing to decline. This show should stand alone but instead it always tries to borrow the popularity of the movies ( Avenger, Thor, Captain 2 ) to survive . So much potential… Read more »
Actually The ratings are going back up.
I like the show
I’ve liked the show from the beginning accepting that it was a NEW NETWORK TV SHOW and NOT A MARVEL MOVIE nor a cable site with a cable budget. The show has improved with time. I think people have likely been unfair to this show expecting mini Avengers movies every week which is simply not possible, especiallyon network TV… I read an interview with Joss Wheadon staying that off it don’t make the network cut, it will continue on the internet.
I enjoy the show and have since the beginning. I think that in this age of online shows and OnDemand, it’s pathetic that a network show is questioned about it’s value and continuity while it’s ratings are in flux, yet still maintains a constant viewership that wouldn’t even put it in question on a cable channel.
I watched a couple of episodes of this show and looking at the numbers, it looks like i made the right decision not to continue. Marvel movies with fun/comedy work very well, not so much on tv.
There are problems with the writing, casting, acting, and special effects, but all of these are getting better. Normally I don’t like it when a series shifts from an adventure-a-week pattern to a continuous story line, but it is working for this show (at least if you don’t miss an episode). I am concerned though that too much misdirection and shocking reveals may ruin this good streak through fatigue and breaking what few emotional bonds they managed to forge over the course of this season. That stuff is working out so far but they can’t keep it up at this… Read more »
