Detective Dwight Hendricks (Jason Lee) has sung his last Elvis song and solved his last case. TNT has cancelled Memphis Beat after two season on the air.
A TNT spokesperson said, “TNT has decided not to pick up a third season of Memphis Beat… The network thanks everyone involved in the production of Memphis Beat for their work on the series, including the great cast and crew. TNT wishes everyone the best.” The last episode aired on August 16th.
Beat was the last of the TNT dramas to have its fate decided. The cable channel renewed Leverage, Rizzoli & Isles, Falling Skies, and Franklin & Bash but cancelled Beat, HawthoRNe, and Men of a Certain Age. Men had the worst ratings of the three axed series while HawthoRNe and Beat were next in line.
Lee will next be seen on NBC’s Up All Night and Beat creators/spouses Liz Garcia and Josh Harto recently sold a new drama to the peacock network called The Meadows.
What do you think? Are you sorry that Memphis Beat has been cancelled? What would you have liked to see happen in season three?

Why do they always cancel the good shows and leave the reruns of the reruns of
shows that were not that goood the first time ?? This stinks
I am so sorry TNT cancelled Memphis Beat. They don’t have any other TV shows worth watching. Sorry TNT your a looser.
What the #$%&&. I don’t what you big wigs were thinking. There is not many family shows on and this was one of them. Get your head out of your %^&().
Very big mistake to cancel the show
My wife and I loved the show.
My husband and I loved the show – our son turned us on to it. We never missed an episode. We’ve been waiting for the next season to start. Very sad day to find out it was cancelled. We loved the action along with good music it made for a great show.
Please make us all happy and bring it back!
I can not believe they cancelled it! I was looking forward to it coming back. I was looking up to see when it would return and now I am shocked. And mad. They put a decent show on with a good cast and then they cancel. TNT is crazy.
Stupid, stupid, stupid decision on TNT’s part. Memphis Beat was one of the very few shows I truly enjoyed. The characters and the music made this show an absolute delight! Please reconsider, I hope someone is actually reading these comments!
they had to take a great show off just to but some reality show. i have had enough of those, please bring back a show that is worth watching!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I can’t believe you cancelled one of the best shows TNT had on. I don’t know who is making these decesions but they were wrong with this one. What are they going to replace it with, another stupid reality show?
My husband and I really looked forward to watching Memphis Beat! I can think of some shows that should have been cancelled to leave Memphis Beat on.
I loved the show. . .I’m really sad that they cancelled it. . .too bad. ..guess I won’t be watching TNT.
This was a show that my wife and I loved. What the h-ll were they thinking. This was a great show. We agree with both of the above posts of Denise and Jack.
I agree with Dennis, what is TNT thinking about canceling a great show. Its one of our favorite shows.W e decided to check out TNT one night and found MB and watched the entire first season. We were delighted to find out it was coming back for season two.PLEASE BRING IT BACK TNT!!!!
I totally agree that TNT made a big mistake, and I sure hope they rethink their desision. There are few series as good as Memphis Beat was. I’d love to see it again. I assumed it was shelved till Summer and just learned it was totally cancelled. TNT don’t be so fast to decide the fate of a great series. There are few series I like as much as I did this one. I read the post here are over 3 months old but still can’t help but hope they change the desision.
Are you kidding me? Memphis Beat was probably one of the better shows on TV! What a rip. But, I guess that those of us who loved Memphis Beat are the one that really know what good TV is. Rizzoli and Isles is not that good and neither is Falling Skies…
