The search for Bigfoot continues. This week, Destination America announced they’ve renewed Mountain Monsters for a fifth season.
The docuseries “follows a band of hardcore hunters and trappers, known as the Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings (AIMS), as they try to prove that Bigfoot exists in hill country.”
Production on season five of Mountain Monsters begins this month, with a premiere slated for 2017.
From Destination America:
(Silver Spring, Md.) – Destination America announced today that MOUNTAIN MONSTERS has been greenlit for season five slated to premiere in Spring 2017. Production begins this month on the monster hit that follows a band of hardcore hunters and trappers, known as the Appalachian Investigators of Mysterious Sightings (AIMS), as they try to prove that Bigfoot exists in hill country.
The fourth season finale of MOUNTAIN MONSTERS on April 16, 2016 ranks as Destination America’s #1 telecast ever among HH, P2+, and M25-54 in L+3 delivery. It wrapped up the latest saga in AIMS’ ongoing search for Bigfoot – but this time with their fearless leader, Trapper, coaching from the sideline. Fans rallied around Trapper during his recovery from illness and cheered on the rest of the team, Buck, Huckleberry, Wild Bill, Jeff, and Willy, as they continued on their quest – and discovered a new foe in the foothills. AIMS was shadowed by a rogue rival team that closed in on their investigations but had not yet been identified, culminating in a cliffhanger finale with a mysterious attempt to make contact.
“MOUNTAIN MONSTERS fans are about as loyal as they come, second only to the AIMS team and their unwavering dedication to finding Bigfoot,” said Jane Latman, general manager of Destination America. “We hear from devoted viewers every single day wanting to know when they’ll get to see more of their favorite monster hunters, and we’re excited to announce that the wait is almost over.”
Nowhere does the mystery of Bigfoot’s existence run deeper than in Appalachia where, over the last 10 years alone, AIMS has uncovered evidence that more than a dozen different Bigfoot clans may call the mountain region home. In the new season, they’ll investigate new reports of Bigfoot sightings to track and attempt to trap these mysterious creatures.
MOUNTAIN MONSTERS is produced by American Chainsaws for Destination America with Colt Straub, Duke Straub, Royal Malloy, Russell Geyser and Jay Bluemke as executive producers. For Destination America, Cathy Garland is executive producer, Jane Latman is general manager, and Henry Schleiff is group president of Investigation Discovery, Destination America, and American Heroes Channel.”
What do you think? Have you seen Mountain Monsters? Are you glad it’s been renewed?
Love the show, crazy but please have another season. All the guys are awesome. Each one have their own spotlight. Don’t leave us hanging. And on that note when is the new season starting.
Yes I am glad they are being renewed. I very much look forward on watching the show
I love those guy’s. I hope to see the Mountain Monsters for the next 20 seasons. Destination America, knows this is the number one show. Great Job. Keep it going.
I have watched from the beginning. I have loved the show, but this season has been a little iffy. I have watched but not loved as much. I hope you will have season 6 but please try to get back to hunting the big foot..
I think it’s sad that Destination America Channel stoops this low to dumb down the American public. You have described the Mountain monsters team as hard core hunters, I think not. This is the most inept bunch of foul-mouthed, backwoods hillbilliesever. They are promoting stupidness at its best. This goofy spoof is comparable to the Three Stooges with an extended cast. The producers and network are shamelessly desperate for airing such a series on American television with such a ridiculous foul-mouthed cast of silliness. Shame on you.
I love the show, don’t miss an episode. You left us with a real cliff hanger. Too many unanswered questions. Blood skull, woman of the woods, little girl, Buck, Jeff, and the invisible creature that attacked Huckleberry. We need a sixth season to explain what is going. Please don’t cancel the show you have quite a following. Jean
I love the show and you left us with a real cliff hanger. We need to know the rest of the story behind the blood skull and the woman of the woods. The people seeking the skull and woman of the woods are they a cult? Who is the little girl and what’s her part in all this? What is going to happen with Buck. Is Trapper going to remain in the background? Who is the invisible creature that attacked Huckleberry? Is Jeff still under the spell of the woman of the woods or what? We who love the show… Read more »

I love this show. It may be a little out there but I love it all he same. If people think it’s stupid then don’t watch it. Haters gonna Hate. There are many other shows on tv. I hope they get season 6 on the way very soon.
Lovin my Hillbilly boys. Go AIMS team,
I love this show! Keep it coming! Go AIMS team. Please bring season 6 and more
Please keep renewing this series! It’s absolutely the best program on TV these days and my family loves all the Hillbillies (My folks come from WVA, lol). God Bless Destination America for renewing season five and can’t wait for Season 6 and beyond. Go AIMS!
This was my family’s favorite show. When Trapper left I think it started going downhill. This season has totally jumped the shark. We still watch it but we wish it would go back to hunting monsters and stop with the obviously written soap opera.
