NOTE: You can see the ratings for NBC’s 2014-15 season here.
There’s lots of data that NBC looks at when deciding whether to renew or cancel a TV series but the ratings are typically the biggest piece.
Check other networks’ rankings:
ABC | CBS | The CW | FOX | ABC Family | TNT

A couple of notes about these charts:
These figures are updated automatically as new ratings are released. The averages are based on the final national numbers (live plus same day viewing), unless marked with an asterisk (*). For technical reasons, I have to resort them manually so feel free to let me know if I missed something.
Keep in mind that the demo numbers are typically what’s most important to advertisers. Therefore, that’s how the networks measure success. Advertisers pay more for ad time on a show that has a higher demo rating. Because older viewers don’t count? No, it’s because younger viewers watch less traditional TV and are harder to reach.
Demo numbers are typically reported using the 10ths decimal place (2.4, for example). In the averages, I’m using an extra decimal for easier ranking.
The networks take into account when shows air on Fridays and Saturdays, nights when TV viewership is lower.
What do you think? Which shows are you rooting for? Which one isn’t as big a hit as you thought? Are you hoping any series will get cancelled to make way for something else?
Believe 5.20 mil rating being cancelled by NBC, what a joke. Parks/Recreations 2.94 mil, (renewed), Parenthood 3.98 mil watching and they get (renewed), Grimm gets renewed with 5.36 mil rating. Really, I don’t watch any of these shows. Why cancel Believe with a 5.20 mil rating. NBC has lost me as a viewer. It’s about who is WHO, this rating system is bogus!!
Believe and Crisis have ratings far above many of the renewed shows and yet they are cancelled? These two shows I love to watch. But they put them up against several Showtime shows (Nurse Jackie and Californication) and ABC’s Revenge and Resurrection so their early numbers weren’t as great as they could have been if they’d aired these two GREAT shows on a different night. I don’t get how they can cancel them without trying a different time slot at least.
THE ONLY 2 SHOWS THAT ME AND MY FAMILY WATCH ON NBC HAVE BEEN CANCELLED..”BELIEVE” AND “CRISIS” WE WONT BE TUNED IN TO NBC ANY LONGER AFTER THESE.GOOD WHILE IT LASTED I GUESS….HEY NBC DO YALL EVEN READ THESE?

Revolution was one of the best! Can’t believe it was cancelled!
I’ll miss “Revolution,” I loved the characters. NBC should have tried a bit more…disappointed.
will miss Revolution…. maybe you have another sci fi show in the wings?
Hey Nbc why dont you pick up intelligence, good show, great cast, already has a large following of 6 million plus. In fact I gave up watching blacklist because it was on the same time as intelligence.
You canceled two shows I love Dracula and Revelation. My question is why? Please bring these two shows back!
The only show I watch on NBC is the Blacklist. and don’t ask me the last show I watched on NBC before that cause I can’t tell you. And going into next year, it looks like it will once again be only the Blacklist.
Accord to arlene
What a blood bath at NBC. Half the shows end up cancelled.
MANY have wanted Growing Up Fisher to remain – BUT, it’s been cancelled, while several other shows with lower ratings have been renewed. What gives?
Are any of our comments here taken into consideration, or even seen by anyone at NBC?
Just wondering……
thx.
3 of my favourite shows are being cancelled, Love Revolution, Believe & Crisis..
Guess I will no longer be watching shows on NBC….never watched your network until
you started airing shows that I was interested in, thought you made a turn around, guess not.
