For its first two seasons, NCIS: New Orleans has had the security of airing directly out of flagship NCIS, CBS‘ most watched series. Now, the network is moving the series to 10pm, a timeslot with fewer viewers. Will this move negatively impact the ratings or, could they grow? Could it be cancelled or is it essentially guaranteed to be renewed for a fourth season? Stay tuned.
NCIS: New Orleans revolves around the local field office in New Orleans, investigating criminal cases that affect military personnel. Special Agent Dwayne Pride (Scott Bakula) leads the team. The rest of the cast includes CCH Pounder, Daryl Chill Mitchell, Lucas Black, Rob Kerkovich, Shalita Grant, and Vanessa Ferlito.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s likelihood of staying on the air. The higher the ratings (particularly the 18-49 demo), the better the chances for survival. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available — usually the next day, around 11:30am EST/8:30am PST. Refresh to see the latest.
3/23 update: CBS has renewed NCIS: New Orleans for a fourth season for 2017-18. Details here.
5/17 update: You can see the rest of the latest night’s ratings.
Note: If you’re not seeing the updated chart, please try reloading the page or view it here.
For comparisons: The second season of NCIS: New Orleans averaged a 1.75 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 12.98 million total viewers (live + same day ratings).
Note: These are the Live + Same Day Ratings which include “live” viewing plus delayed DVR viewing, up until 3am local time that same night. Ratings marked with an “*” are the fast affiliate ratings and will be updated with the Live+SD numbers when they are made available. Typically, networks get paid for C+3 ratings which includes DVR viewing within three days of the original airing when commercials are watched. Those numbers are rarely released to the press.
What do you think? Do you still like the NCIS: New Orleans TV series? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for season four on CBS?
Its my 2nd choice next to the original
Next to ncis its my 2nd choice
Very well typecasted and dialog is spot on . Terrific show .
Just like it’s namesake, the original NCIS, the NOLA crew makes the show what it is! And just like the original, I look forward to it every season and usually keep the recorded seasons until I can get them on DVD to keep! So please don’t cancel this show! But..you. can have Gregorio!
I love NCIS New Orleans and look forward to watching it every week it is on!! Please don’t cancel it, I love that show!
Love the show in England, like the dynamics between the cast even in series 3 people have to give the characters time to evolve
Have loved the show until Vanessa Ferlito joined the show. The show by design is to have a crime, investigate the crime, and solve the crime. The addition of the lesbian undertones and overt females’ kiss has ruined the show for me! Keep the “main thing” as the main thing and I bet ratings will go up again.
I so agree.
I love the show and dvr it since the move to later time – don’t want to miss it. Wish it was on reruns or Netflix for previous season. Love Gregario she adds an edgier side to the show
Stopped watching at beginning of season due to the new character Gregorio (never liked Percy either) gave the show another shot last night, no can do, can’t watch with Gregorio, she actually ruined the show
Enjoy the whole cast, especially sassy Percy and gentlemanly Christopher and the “country mouse/city mouse” banter — EXCEPT Gregorio, who has made the show nearly unwatchable for us with her pout, exaggerated accent, and superior attitude, not to mention the gratuitous same sex kiss. Way too much screen time! And Percy was not even in the episode tonight! Please renew for another season, but why do you even need the Gregorio character with such a good cast otherwise?
Renewed with Mitchell
Yes, gregorio ruins the show. I use to always watch it but when the producer/chief writer passed, the show had two strikes against it. Making Christopher sexually flexible might have been interesting….especially after a long night of drinking (it is New Orleans after all). Gregorio on the other hand is simply strident and boring. Major course correction or it’ll be one less ncis franchise.
Please, don’t cancel the show! I love Vanessa!
Does the actor who plays Lasalle really have such a pronounced accent or is he exaggerating? It seems like its too much!
From what I’ve read Lucas Black is from Alabama and has made a professional decision not to moderate his accent.
my family will no longer watch ncis new orleans since they decided that this was not a family show with two women kissing each other sexually…
Please bring Zoe McLellan, back !! All is forgiving for being human an sleeping with a bad guy !!
Thanks Jerry !!
