What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the NBC television network, The Night Shift stars Robert Bailey Jr., Eoin Macken, Jill Flint, Brendan Fehr, Scott Wolf, Tanaya Beatty, and JR Lemon, with Mark Consuelos recurring in season four. Although they’re kind of quirky, San Antonio Memorial’s emergency room night shift staff is extraordinary. They’ll risk almost anything to save their patients. Season three ended with Paul Cummings (Bailey) leading a staff walk-out after his father bought the hospital and fired Topher. Meanwhile, overseas, TC Callahan (Macken) was knocked out, during a refugee camp bombing. The fourth season picks up two days later, with everyone dealing with the consequences of their decisions. In Syria, TC’s proclivity for chaos helps him save people.
Season Four Ratings
The fourth season of The Night Shift averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 3.96 million viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by 32% and down by 21%, respectively. Find out how The Night Shift stacks up against other NBC TV shows.

Telly’s Take
Although season four premiered with much lower numbers than last season, it is still a bit too early to use the ratings to predict whether NBC will cancel or renew The Night Shift for season five. That said, this show’s audience has declined from year to year, particularly in its demo ratings. While I haven’t left my perch, my interest and appetite are piqued. Night Shift was one of the best shows i have seen in a long time. would really like to see a comeback of this show. it is awesome! i think it didn’t have enough media exposure.

I agree I love watching this tv show NIGHT SHIFT me and my daughter have watched this show season 1-4 several times and we are waiting on season 5 and we would love to see it get like greys anatomy. 15 seasons if possible…we love it and why would they take off a great show like this.. we all love it..and they should take off something that we dont like..

I love Night Shift. I don’t think they should cancel it. I don’t have regular tv. I make sure to have netflix just so I can watch it. It would really suck if they don’t bring it back. Definitely need to bring it back!!

I so agree with you. Today for the second time I have watched the night shift the last episode leaves me with a lot of questions. For example what is going to happen to Paul will he survive or not? What’s going to happen to Drew while he’s over there? Is Rick and Drew got to adopt a baby? What’s going to happen to the program and/or the hospital?… It is so confusing that they just left it there i mean if you’re going to end a series shouldn’t all the questions I answered???
Night shift is my favorite show. I’ve rewatched nightshift a thousand times over and really wish they would renew for a 5th season. You have stupid shows like the office that has multiple seasons of the same stuff. Nightshift, every episode is different and feels real
the night shift is one of the best shows on NBC. From season 1 to season 4 the show has been a hit. They touched every single topic from medical issues, gay relationships, military battles, PTSD, immigration, family issues and more. Hope they take that in consideration. I believe one of the reasons why the show’s rating went down is because most people didn’t have the time to watch the regular network TV and ended up watching those shows on Netflix or Hulu.
I loved watching the Night Shift. I can’t believe the network would drop them. There is so much crap on tv, such so much football. What has happened to programming. They should all be fired, most of the people watching tv are older citizens. We do not want old shows beeing brought back. Nor sit stupid
sitcoms. Give us something to watch. If you don’t wise up, no one will be watching.
