ABC has cut the Notorious TV show’s production order from 13 episodes to 10. Deadline reports this is not an “outright cancellation,” since the Alphabet Network plans to air all ten episodes. Maybe that seems like a good sign to hopeful fans, but it is not. Trimming the production order is the classic first step, in the peter-out approach to cancelling TV shows.
Written by Josh Berman and Allie Hagan, Notorious is based on the lives of cable news producer Wendy Walker and defense attorney Mark Geragos. The legal and media drama stars Piper Perabo, Daniel Sunjata, Kate Jennings Grant, Aimee Teegarden, and J. August Richards. Walker and Geragos executive produce.
Will ABC Cancel Notorious? A Look at the Numbers
First of all, the freshman series has not been a ratings powerhouse. As of episode 1.05 on October 20th, Notorious was averaging a 0.96 in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic. In addition, it has only been drawing an average total audience of 4.378 million viewers.
Secondly, in the 2016-17 television season, we have been tracking the ratings for 19 scripted ABC series. Sorting by its number in the demo, Notorious places 14th, among ABC shows. Notorious ranks 13th, when we sort by average total audience size.
Furthermore, as a show ages, it naturally falls some in the ratings. Because the season one numbers are so anemic, it is unlikely ABC will renew Notorious for season two.

This show is one that both my husband and I enjoy. Its first episode was iffy but then things took off. It seems that the episodes are fast-moving and there is always an unexpected twist and an ending that leaves you waiting for the next episode. ABC may be too quick on their decisions. Please renew this one.
This show has become my newest obsession just as promised by the previews. I think it’d be a great loss to cancle this show before it even has a real chance to thrive. Which I can’t imagine why it would not thrive. It’s an excellent cast and the writers have done some incredible work so far. I’d hate to see it end just because of ratings alot of times I watch it on demand because I work nights. Please don’t take a way what could be the next greys or scandal.
I love this show. It has become part of my Thursday night regimen. The first couple of episodes were a little slow going, but to keep watching this has the makings of a true ABC drama. Please keep this show for a second season and give it a real chance. Also, you advertise all of Chandra’s new shows very well. Notorious deserves the same kind of build up.

I love the show so much. I am a little bit tired of greys anatomy and scandal. I just want a show that suprise me and make me want to watch the next episode. That is why I love notorious
We dvr’ed this show and just caught up. Notorious is a great show, and we are sad to hear it may be cancelled. We feel that it keeps getting better with each episode…the first few weren’t as strong as the last few. ABC give it a chance when it is not going against football. PLEASE!!!

I simply look forward to every Thursday watching Notorious and see last episode will be aired Dec. 8th, which is a good day in my religion. SO I pray Notorious is not cancelled. Great storyline with all the actors on their Stellar performances. I do not understand why the ratings are so low. PLEASE EVERYONE tune in to a great show. You will not be disappointed. !!
