ABC has cut the Notorious TV show’s production order from 13 episodes to 10. Deadline reports this is not an “outright cancellation,” since the Alphabet Network plans to air all ten episodes. Maybe that seems like a good sign to hopeful fans, but it is not. Trimming the production order is the classic first step, in the peter-out approach to cancelling TV shows.
Written by Josh Berman and Allie Hagan, Notorious is based on the lives of cable news producer Wendy Walker and defense attorney Mark Geragos. The legal and media drama stars Piper Perabo, Daniel Sunjata, Kate Jennings Grant, Aimee Teegarden, and J. August Richards. Walker and Geragos executive produce.
Will ABC Cancel Notorious? A Look at the Numbers
First of all, the freshman series has not been a ratings powerhouse. As of episode 1.05 on October 20th, Notorious was averaging a 0.96 in the 18-49 year old viewer demographic. In addition, it has only been drawing an average total audience of 4.378 million viewers.
Secondly, in the 2016-17 television season, we have been tracking the ratings for 19 scripted ABC series. Sorting by its number in the demo, Notorious places 14th, among ABC shows. Notorious ranks 13th, when we sort by average total audience size.
Furthermore, as a show ages, it naturally falls some in the ratings. Because the season one numbers are so anemic, it is unlikely ABC will renew Notorious for season two.

I love Notorious! My daughter kept telling me how good it was. By episode six I decided to watch it and she was right it has a great storyline and I love it. Please don’t cancel the show, it may just need to air on a different day so not to compete with Pitch and Project Runway.
I absolutely love the show. The premise is refreshing not the same tired police procedural or medical drama. I would love to see it continue. I especially enjoy Piper Perabo and Daniel Sunjata, two of my favorites.
I think they should keep Notorious! I love this show and its characters. I watched all the showings and taped them. You really need to reconsider cancelling this show.

I absolutely love this show!!! There are two new shows that I make sure to watch every week. I hardly watch anything or have time to watch anything but I make the time to watch notorious and conviction. Now I heard they both might be cancelled. I am extremely upset about this please please please don’t cancel these shows!!!!
I love this show!!! It is one of few that should stay on. If its canceled it is one a shame and I will definitely no longer watch abc.
My thought process is; the show just aired September 22nd- with the election, and do much going, families getting kids back to schools, it’s been a lot going on. I wouldn’t cancel this show… I do t think it’s fair to the actors/actresses nor the writers. Don’t cancel please- please reconsider
I think they should keep the show, I really like it, I’ve missed it the last couple of weeks.
I had high hopes for notorious but sadly must say I would like to see it replaced with something better. It was very disappointing
