What’s in store for The Orville? Recently, creator and star Seth MacFarlane discussed the future of the FOX TV show, TVGuide reports.
The comedic drama is set 300 years in the future and follows the adventures of the Orville, a not-so-top-of-the-line exploratory ship in Earth’s interstellar fleet. The cast includes MacFarlane, Halston Sage, Patrick Cox, Scott Grimes, Adrianne Palicki, Chad L. Coleman, and Larry Joe Campbell.
At this week’s Television Critics Association press conference, MacFarlance revealed season two of The Orville will feature more episodes than season one:
I think it’s going to be at least 14 [episodes]. I’d rather do fewer episodes and have them be better content-wise than do 22 and have them be filler.”
However, more episodes means fans might have to wait longer for season two of the FOX series. In fact, MacFarlane said the new season will probably not be ready in time for next fall.

I love the show because it is original and funny. Even my wife who is not a sci fi fan likes it a lot. I hope it comes back soon and with more episdoes! Keep doing a great job!
The Orville is a great series and one I eagerly look forward to watching each week. One if the best new shows in a long time.

Absolutely one of the best new shows on TV salute to the old with an absolutely fantastic take on the new thank you very much and hope this lasts at least as many years as Star Trek the original, lol
My husband and I enjoy watching Orville and we feel very comfortable with our grandchildren watching too.
As an original Star Trek fan I thoroughly enjoyed the show and the cast. I am glad that the show has been renewed.
The Orville was by far the best new show this season. Sorry Good Doctor. Please make it come back sooner than later but as always the best shows you got to wait and wait and wait for them to come back with new shows.
Was skeptical thinking it would be more slapstick or gross humor but instead it is a great show and the humor is done extremely well. Really glad it got renewed.
The Orville has been renewed by fox for Season 2.
I certainly hope we get a longer series of “The Orville”. My hubby and I thoroughly enjoy it. Please don’t stop.
“The Orville” is an amazing brilliant cunning awesome excellent great super fantastic very cool Television Series/Television Show created by Seth MacFarlane is a terrific TV Show to see/watch on FOX Network! I’m so excited that it was renewed for a 2nd Season and since We’ll have to wait until it airs due to more episodes being filmed for the Second Season I’ll wait for as long as it takes!!

I totally agree… I visited my son and he put this on. I loved it!! It reminds me of the original Star Trek… great show! So happy it was renewed
This is such a well done, entertaining show. Please renew it and don’t make us wait any extra time for the love of an extra episode or two . Thank you Fox for a great show. Every other person I have introduced to this show loves it. I hope you don’t blow it.
