In a move that’s sure the alienate fans, TBS has cancelled its People of Earth TV show. There will be no third season, despite the fact that the Turner-owned cable network already renewed People of Earth for season three, back in September of 2017. According to creator David Jenkins, although the third season has been written (but not shot), the People of Earth cancellation is official. Check it out, below.
A TBS sitcom, People of Earth stars Wyatt Cenac, Ana Gasteyer, Oscar Nuñez, Michael Cassidy, Alice Wetterlund, Luka Jones, Brian Huskey, Nancy Lenehan, Tracee Chimo, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Björn Gustafsson, and Ken Hall. The story centers on journalist Ozzie Graham (Cenac) who comes to town to investigates supposed alien encounters. He is soon drawn into an eclectic group of misfits as he finds himself identifying with their experiences.
People of Earth Cancellation Confirmed
Late last month, creator and writer David Jenkins informed fans the renewal was in jeopardy and asked them to send a friendly note to TBS, if they wanted to see a third season of People of Earth.

TBS seems not to have been moved by fan outreach, as Jenkins relayed the cancellation decision last night.

People of Earth: A Look at the Ratings

Please renew ‘People of Earth’ , in fact, put it in the slot that you give the filthy samantha bee, she makes me sick and should not be given airtime. Please do not cancel ‘People Of Earth’ , it’s a great show and it’s not typical of all the other stupid sitcoms that you usually see, and it’s certainly a lot more entertaining than the filthy little scum samantha bee.
I realize “TBS” stands for “The Bad Shows”, but geezz, they finally knock it out of the funny park with People of Earth and cancel after 2 seasons? REALLY? The Orig. Star Trek was cancelled after 3 seasons in 1969 and LOOK WHAT HAPPENED! GIVE THIS SHOW A CHANCE OR LET ANOTHER COMPANY CONTINUE TO PRODUCE IT!! (i hope the execs that cancelled it get abducted! 😉
Wow! Have been waiting and waiting for the show ‘People of Earth’ to return and now found out it has been cancelled….again? What? This show is fantastic! Please bring the show back and RENEW ‘People of Earth’. Many people love the show! We are the few who write in and many never wrote in to say Renew! Please bring back a fun show that in a few shows appear to actually be based on some true stories. Give the 3rd season a chance, maybe let another channel bring the show back ASAP. TBS is cancelling this great Sci Fi comedy?? With the increased interest in ACTUAL cosmology, as evidenced by the Science Channel I can’t believe that this cancellation was a good idea. The Science Channel has had at least 4 actual science programs beginning with Morgan Freeman narrating “Through the Wormhole”, progressing through “How the Universe Works,” and others such as “Space’s Deepest Secrets” etc. PLEASE RENEW THIS! I can’t believe that the interest in this subject, even though this was a comedy, has waned.
I LOVE People of Earth! Why do all the intelligent shows get canceled? Either TBS should bring it back or the SyFy channel should pick it up!!!

I LOVE People Of Earth!! Was a HUGE supporter from the beginning ” had anxiously awaiting it’s return. WTF TBS???? You promised us fans another season ” we were patiently waiting. I don’t understand. It would have paired especially well with Final Space, get some of that rerun crap off the network schedule. I don’t think anyone needs to see yet another 2 Broke Girls or Big Bang Theory reruns. I just found out that the show People Of Earth will not be renewed for a season 3 even though it was already written and approved ..this makes me so sad! I love that show! It left off on a major cliffhanger too! @TBSNetwork Can’t you please just finish off with season 3? It had lots of viewers
Very disappointed after waiting 9 months since the show was renewed for season 3. Now after all that time the shows been cancelled if it weren’t for Guest Book and wrecked I’d stop watching TBS bc of there ignorant choice in such a one of a kind brilliant show
I’ve been waiting patiently for season 3 and now just hear this. This show was funny and quirky. So much better than other stuff on Tv. I only have 2 shows I watch. The Walking Dead and People of Earth. This is sad.
A total shame. This was such a good show.
I only watched this show sporadically, but I really hate when networks pull this crap. Writers put all that work into writing a season for nothing, actors think they have a job still, fans gets excited for the new season they were promised. It’s just such a slap in the face to say something was renewed then cancel it, especially this late into the game. I remember that happened to Hindsight on VH1, they were two weeks away from filming before they got the rug pulled out from under them.

What a shame, this was a really funny and unique show. TBS should have at least given the fans some finality with the show, don’t leave on a seasonal cliffhanger. Well…at least we still have Wrecked
