In a move that’s sure the alienate fans, TBS has cancelled its People of Earth TV show. There will be no third season, despite the fact that the Turner-owned cable network already renewed People of Earth for season three, back in September of 2017. According to creator David Jenkins, although the third season has been written (but not shot), the People of Earth cancellation is official. Check it out, below.
A TBS sitcom, People of Earth stars Wyatt Cenac, Ana Gasteyer, Oscar Nuñez, Michael Cassidy, Alice Wetterlund, Luka Jones, Brian Huskey, Nancy Lenehan, Tracee Chimo, Da’Vine Joy Randolph, Björn Gustafsson, and Ken Hall. The story centers on journalist Ozzie Graham (Cenac) who comes to town to investigates supposed alien encounters. He is soon drawn into an eclectic group of misfits as he finds himself identifying with their experiences.
People of Earth Cancellation Confirmed
Late last month, creator and writer David Jenkins informed fans the renewal was in jeopardy and asked them to send a friendly note to TBS, if they wanted to see a third season of People of Earth.

TBS seems not to have been moved by fan outreach, as Jenkins relayed the cancellation decision last night.

People of Earth: A Look at the Ratings
The second season of People of Earth averaged a 0.30 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 674,000 viewers. Compared to season one, it was down by 8% in the demo and down by 12% in viewers. Learn how People of Earth stacks up against other TBS TV shows.

We are so disappointed this sweet, funny, so original show has been cancelled. The oddball characters were so well formed, and the interactions and situations were like no other show. We will really miss it, and hope someone has the good sense to pick it up
I am a fan of the show and I’m disappointed it’s not returning. I was looking forward to season 3 and was constantly checking TBS to see when it was going to be on.
Such a shame this creative gem was cancelled! I was really looking forward to season 3! Perhaps some other network will have the sense to pick it up? (Fingers crossed!)
Of course this was cancelled. It was one of the few creative shows on TV that didn’t feature zombies and Lucifer and blood and gore. Some of us are not into that and will be missing the type of alternative that People of Earth provided. Shame on TBS for taking away one of the few shows we watched.
This show was hilarious, fun, weird, and left me waiting for more. Thanks to TBS though, I will wait for nothing. It’s hard to find good shows that will make you want to stay up till 3 in the morning watching. This show made me want to. I am enraged that I will not get to see what happens after that cliffhanger from season 2, the NOW LAST season thanks to TBS.
Very disappointed that TBS has canceled People of Earth! It’s one of the only things on tv that’s original and not a stale remake of some older show. Quirky, funny, great writing, and unique. Booooo TBS!
Figures, cancel the good show to make room for something worse. Can’t have anything for intelligent people to watch, just more shows for dummies. Thanks TBS, I’m guessing that I’ll be watching SOME OTHER NETWORK.
I am so disappointed that this series has been cancelled. It is the only series that I have watched recently and I was really looking forward to season 3. I am holding forth some hope that someone will help to rescue it!

Me & my group of friends just LOVE this show! We would call, text, whatever, to remind each other when it was on. We had favorite characters. Like my friend Naomi likes the irascible little guy up on space base. I’d have a hard time picking a favorite cuz each character is just sooo special. Yep, you are special! And we felt very special every time we got to see a new episode. The writing is hilarious, innovative, quirky, incredibly clever, with fresh plot lines —- made me actually WANT to watch reruns.
