Pit Bull & Parolees is ending its time on Animal Planet, and the 19th and final season will premiere next Saturday night. The series debuted 13 years ago this month, and 194 episodes and 51 specials have aired thus far. The final season will find Tia Maria Torres and her team at Villalobos Rescue Center facing Hurricane Ida and trying to keep the dogs and crew safe.
Animal Planet revealed more about the final season of Pit Bulls & Parolees in a press release.
For over 30 years, Tia and her family have gone above and beyond to give a second chance at life to pit bulls at Villalobos Rescue Center, the largest Pit Bull rescue center in the U.S. while also offering parolees a new start as staff and volunteers. Now, in the final season of “Pit Bulls & Parolees,” dedicated audiences will witness higher stakes as Tia and the Villalobos crew strive to give every dog an opportunity to find their forever home and a second chance at life. And while this may be the end of one chapter, the story of redemption and rescue continues for Tia and her Villalobos family in their never-ending battle to save man and man’s best friend. The final season of “Pit Bulls & Parolees” premieres on Animal Planet Saturday, Oct. 22 at 9PM ET/ PT.
In the season’s premiere, the Villalobos Rescue Center is tested as Hurricane Ida bears down on Louisiana, leaving Tia and the rest of the crew race to move the rescue dogs to safety amid the intense storm. We’ll also see Mariah take the reins for her first solo wolf-dog rescue named Dorothy from the streets of Louisiana, while Lizzy and Earl help a music-loving couple from Kentucky find their dream dog. Additionally, the premiere episode of “Pit Bulls & Parolees” is a part of Animal Planet’s annual “You Watch, We Give” tradition where for every viewer that tunes in to watch the season premiere on October 22, 2022 at 9PM ET/PT, Animal Plant will donate $1.00 to Villalobos Rescue Center up to the amount of $20,000, which will go toward food and shelter needs for rescued pit bulls.
Later this season, audiences will witness incredible rescue stories from far and wide. We’ll see Tia and daughter-in-law Lizzy answer a distress call from a shelter in Mississippi and take on eight hound dogs in desperate condition; the Villalobos team prep to welcome the public for a volunteer day as the new Villalobos Rescue Center location nears completion; daughter Mariah and her older brother Moe put their motorcycle passion to work by building a motorcycle sidecar in honor of her recently deceased dog, Tater, in order to give rides to older dogs at the rescue; and Apple, a senior dog who finally finds their forever home. Audiences will also witness Tia hire her first female parolee in Villalobos History to the team to see if she’ll be the right fit as a dog trainer and dog handler.

What do you think? Are you sad to see Pit Bulls & Parolees end?
Canceling this show is a disaster. Cancel something else
Please don’t cancel this show. It is my favorite on Animal Planet, its my favorite period. I have rescued three Pitties (my last three dogs) and I can relate to this. Please reconsider and don’t cancel.
So sad about Pitbulls & Parolees ending. Watched every episode. Best show on Animal Planet!
Please don’t cancel this show! Do whatever it takes to keep it. It is such a wonderful show. All I ever watch is Animal Planet and HGTV. Pitbulls…, and Dr. Jeff Rocky Mountain Vet and The Zoo are my all time favorites. Plus this show does so much good for the breed and the rescue. Please keep them on for next season!
I agree with everyone above. Please don’t cancel this show. This and Dr. Jeff are my favorite shows on TV.
PIT BULLS AND PAROLEES is my absolute FAVORITE TV SHOW.
I CANNOT believe such a fun, wholesome, educational, smart program that helps people understand how amazing the show, the Torres family and the importance of all dogs makes this world a better place . Whoever decided to end this special TV program has no heart. Please reconsider this decision and let PIT BULLS AND PAROLES continue teaching everyone the importance of all dogs and their people. LINDA GOODMAN Riverside, CA
I am so sad to see this show end! I have watched every episode from the beginning!! This is an amazing show with real people and real dogs that need help! It’s not a silly reality show. My true hope is that another TV production company will see this amazing opportunity and snatch up this series. There just has to be more of this type of show. More that can be done to help the rescue and the pups saved.
I absolutely will miss Pitbulls and Parolees. I have watched since the first season when they were in California. Thank you Animal Planet for all the episodes I’ve been able to watch and rewatch.
You bet I’ll be watching the Premier October 22.
I have been watching the show ever since they were in California. And I’m deeply saddened to hear about the show no longer be on TV, I’m not sure why the show is going to be canceled, but I will definitely be watching the new season
I used to not watch shows that involved pitbulls or convicts on parole until my Wife and I started watching Animal Planet. Now we watch every day. And now I love seeing how good pitbulls can be. I have even met people where I live who own pitbulls and they are very friendly dogs. I guess it all depends on how people raise them. Keep up the good work. David Shaw Richmond, VA.
Please don’t cancel Pitbuls & Paroles…. it’s a great show & it’s needed…..
Please. Don’t take this show off.they are wonderful rescue.it has made me think differently about the pit bull dogs they all are so dedicated.people need this show to be seen.tea is the strongest women ever.
It’s really sad to see pitbulls and paroles leave the air, if it’s not their choice I think a petition should be started to keep them on
Ugh why would you stop making such a good positive show?!?!? So sad to see it end!
I have watched PB & P since the beginning. I love Tia, her family and the guys who work there and become like family. I love the heart warming stories and simply will not miss this show. Why in the world would it be cancelled? If it goes to another channel, that’s where I and other viewers will go.
Shame on whoever’s responsible for this decision!!
I understand that “Warner Brothers” have bought out Animal Planet…. but why on earth won’t Warner Brothers pick up this amazing program. There must be thousands and thousands of viewers watching this show, I would love to hear why…… Do you reply to your comments?
Unfortunately I think sometimes those that produce these shows don’t care how popular a show is, if they’re trying to save money they’ll cancel a show. It makes me angry they’re taking this show off, I’m going to miss it….. I hope they’ll still have the money to keep this center operating since it’s so expensive & it runs on donations & what they make from this show, they’re losing a big chunk of money. I hope everyone will be OK & all the furbabies.
My husband and I have watched Pitbulls and parolees since the very beginning and we have been wondering what has happened. We love pitbulls and the show from the beginning and we want the show to continue and hopefully this will happen and believe me when I say we are looking forward to watching it again. Please don’t cancel this show we love and support this show , Sincerely the MacDonalds
