Airing on Friday nights, Proven Innocent stars Rachelle Lefevre, Kelsey Grammer, Russell Hornsby, Vincent Kartheiser, Nikki M. James, Riley Smith, and Clare O’Connor. The series centers on Madeline Scott (Lefevre), a resolute lawyer on a lifelong quest for justice. When she was just 18, Madeline was wrongfully convicted of murder, along with her brother, Levi (Smith). Now she and her partner (and former defense attorney), Easy Boudreau (Hornsby), lead an underdog defense team, dedicated to overturning unjust convictions. Meanwhile, Gore Bellows (Grammer), the prosecutor who once put her away, is determined to return her to prison.
The first season of Proven Innocent on FOX averaged a 0.40 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.01 million viewers. Compared to the other FOX TV shows of the 2018-19 season, Proven Innocent ranks 16th of 16 scripted series.
The season (now series) finale of Proven Innocent aired last night.

I can’t believe Proven Innocent was cancelled after the first season. I watched this show from beginning to end and I was so into the show from beginning to end and I looked forward to watching every Friday night. I’m so tired of people only liking certain shows like almost all reality shows, I don’t mind some but it has gotten ridiculous. I really hope someone picks up this show because I’m upset with Fox. So sorry to hear Proven Innocent has been cancelled. Very well written. Great cast. Held my interest from beginning to end. Makes one wonder just how many innocent people are in prison. Hope Fox brings this show back.
So sorry to hear the show is not returning for a second season!! I was only able to watch 2 episodes and thought it was great. It was very well written . It’s so sad that that people only seem to want to watch TV reality shows. It was an intense drama that held my attention from beginning to end!!!! It makes one wonder just how many innocent people are sitting in prison! Great show!!!! Great cast!!! Fox needs to rethink!
Prevent innocent was excellent but stuck in a bad timeslot, Friday night is the kiss of death for this show. Please consider bringing it back or would love to see another station pick it up.
This show needs to stay, it shows how the justice system can be wrong and inconsistent with guilty people are placed in prison. It also shows how corrupt politicians are. People need to know someone is defending them.
That’s a big mistake reminiscent of how Conviction was taken off air prematurely, with also a great cast, this shows how ratings always matter, whether the producers consider the viewer’s side or not, also this type of legal drama is the reason why we watch it in the first place, we don’t want stupid reality shows, just great TV, plain and simple, how difficult is that for asking? This was a great TV show. Definitely a show that needs to be aired. We have entirely too many innocent people sitting in our prisons; having advocates for them is an important message. To be ranked 16 or 16 shows is highly confusing. It had great story lines, excellent characters, good chemistry within the cast, and exceptional actors. Certainly better than other shows Fox has decided to air. Don’t we already have enough crap shows on TV. Instead Fox cancels a good show and their idea of a good summer show is Paradise Hotel. I watched initially because of thinking Kelsey would be a primary actor each espisode & that was not the case. Ensemble cast was actually strong & final episode was a twisty ending. More writing for Kelsey in courtroom, politics etc. would have to me strengthened this series. I would have watched a Season 2 though & too bad cancelled. Maybe Friday night was a hard time yet DVR people ! For a rolling drama as I call these shows, it had potential except I guess title gives outcome which takes away some of anticipation end findings.
Sad this was canceled, would definitely was another season.
