An ABC drama, season three of Quantico stars Priyanka Chopra, Jake McLaughlin, Johanna Braddy, Russell Tovey, Alan Powell, Marlee Matlin, and Blair Underwood. Alex Parrish (Chopra) left the CIA behind for three years of peaceful anonymity in Italy. Now, though, Ryan (McLaughlin) convinces her to help save Shelby (Braddy) from a notorious international arms dealer known only as The Widow. They draft Harry (Tovey) and Owen (Underwood) to their cause. Owen tags in Jocelyn Turner (Matlin), who has a history with The Widow. Together, they form a whole, new black-ops force.
The series debuted in September 2015 to some very good ratings. It looked like ABC might have a new hit series but the ratings quickly fell and the first season averaged a 1.24 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 4.34 million viewers. The network renewed the series for a second season in March 2016, when only half of the season had aired.
Producers made some changes to the series, likely hoping that the numbers for season two would be better. That didn’t happen. Season two ended up averaging a 0.67 demo rating with 2.79 million viewers. That was a huge season-to-season decline. Still, Quantico landed a third season renewal, possibly due to lucrative streaming and international deals.
This time around, ABC held Quantico until much later in the season. Network execs seemed resigned to the idea that Quantico wasn’t going to draw very good ratings. After three weeks of Thursday night airings, the series was moved to Friday nights. The ratings were terrible, even for a Friday night show. It’s been averaging a 0.43 demo rating with 2.57 million viewers. With numbers like these, it was no surprise that ABC decided to call it quits and cancelled Quantico. Of course, that doesn’t mean that loyal viewers are ready for the show to end.
What do you think? Would you have watched season four of the Quantico TV show? Do you think that the ABC show should have been cancelled? Should it have been cancelled sooner?
No. Show got boring in Season 3
Season Three had terrible ratings primarily, in my opinion, because it completely threw away Season Two and rebooted the series. I was expecting Season Three to be the long fight against the corrupt President but instead it added Marlee Matlin, who I thought added little to the show, and summarily disposed of Season Two in a couple of lines of dialogue.
Canceled? Ya, killing off great shows is a thing. So lets keep worthless junk running right? Maybe another season of Kardasians?
Absolutely would have continued to watch this show-really learned a lot about how FBI works
Love love loved this show!!!! Please bring it back!!!!
I would have definitely watched a Season 4! This was one of my favorite shows when it was on. I loved the chemistry between McQuigg and Alex-would have liked to watch where the show would have taken it. Instead we were left with a cliffhanger and will never know what happened to all of the characters. Please bring this one back!
Yes, this has been a multi-layered concept show excellently written and performed in all three seasons. I would watch a Season 4 and highly recommend it’s revival.
I love Quantico and would definitely continue to watch additional show and seasons!!! This was one of the best shows on primetime!!@@@
I definitely enjoyed Quantico. I absolutely would’ve watched a 4th season. I never missed an episode. It really stinks that they left it on a cliffhanger and we’ll never get to see what happened to Alex, McQuigg, Ryan, Shelby, Owen, Jocelyn, or Harry. At least I still have the old episodes on Netflix.
I miss it and would definitely watch any future episodes.
It would have been a much better twist to the plot ending with Alex coming back after 3 years with Ryan’s child…they had such a dramatic chemistry all through the seasons to just leave them with nothing binding them in the end.
I would have definitely continued to watch! I miss it!
Yes I would have love to watch Quantico season 4
Bringing Alan Powell in brought a different dynamic to the show and it was working.
I would love to see a season 4. I wish that McQuigg had been added during the second season, he was a great addition to the team. The chemistry between him and Alex is great. I would love to see the new showrunner for the 3rd season go with this show to another network. The second season hurt the show with too many plots and storylines. The third season was great, more like what it should be. ABC, you knew by moving this show to different time slots would hurt the ratings, especially on Friday night, Friday and Sunday not… Read more »
Quantico made me wonder how the US ever managed to find people to bang the rocks together to make fire. A group of stupid dysfunctional people who spend their lives fighting and distrusting each other, who needs an enemy without
Yes, I would have watched the show. I love to show.
