The dream of ’90s Nickelodeon is alive at the movies. According to Deadline, Napoleon Dynamite director/writer Jared Hess is making NickToons, a feature film that will incorporate several of Nickelodeon’s most popular cartoons.
The movie will feature characters from Rugrats, Ren & Stimpy, Angry Beavers, Rocko’s Modern Life, and Aaahh! Real Monsters.
The project comes from Ali Mendes and will be written by Hess and his wife/writing partner, Jarusha. NickToons isn’t the first ’90s Nick revival. Nostalgia for the classic cartoons is at an all-time high.
Last month, the Atlanta Hawks hosted a ’90s Nick-themed basketball game, complete with slime. And in November, Nick announced they are developing a Hey Arnold TV movie.
What do you think? Would you watch NickToons? What’s your favorite ’90s NickToon?
