CBS has cancelled its Scorpion TV show after four seasons. The season, which began with a musical episode, weill be this series’ swan song.
A CBS action drama, Scorpion stars Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Eddie Kay Thomas, Jadyn Wong, Ari Stidham, Robert Patrick, Riley B. Smith, Andy Buckley, Jamie McShane, Joshua Leonard, Dan Dratch, and Scott Porter. Inspired by a real-life computer expert, the series centers on Walter O’Brien (Gabel) and his team of brilliant misfits. Team Scorpion is the country’s last line of defense against lurking high-tech threats.
Scorpion: A Look at the Ratings
The fourth season of Scorpion is averaging a 0.81 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.26 million viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by about 32% and down by 27%, respectively. By both measures, Scorpion is consistently among the lowest rated scripted CBS TV shows.
All told, today CBS cancelled two TV shows: Superior Donuts and Scorpion. The network also renewed five series: Criminal Minds (season 14); Man With a Plan (season three); Life in Pieces (season four); Instinct (season two); and Big Brother: Celebrity Edition (season two).
UPDATE: CBS has cancelled Kevin Can Wait and has renewed Elementary for season seven.
Deadline has confirmed the Scorpion cancellation.
What do you think? Did you think CBS would cancel or renew Scorpion for season five? Now that it’s over, did it end at the right time, or should the network have given it another season to wrap up? Sound off, in the comments.
CBS, please renew Scorpion. Our Monday nights are boring. It’s so refreshing to see a show with Nerds, and Normal people. Page and Walter have to get back together. Happy and Hubby have to have a baby. You cannot just drop the show. We love the show. The antics, and relationships are so funny. I love all of it, except Page breaking up with Walter. The Writer’s have to fix that.
This show is different. We love it.
CBS bring back scorpion team.missing it already
Mistake CBS … You need to (at the very least) tie up loose ends in a Season 5.
I will miss the show, the characters were so quirky. Each show was more tense than the next, no falling asleep. I also like that they always survive.I wouldlove to see another season to wrap it up at least. Please reconsider.
bring back Scorpion. I stopped my CBS AA account because of that. It was the only thing I watched on CBS. Back to Netflix again
I hate that it is cancel they should at least do another season becauae the last show left you hanging the ending was all wrong
Scorpion should not have been cancelled. The interaction between the characters is great. It is my most favorite show to watch!
The canceling of Scorpion is very surprising and depressing. There are other shows that could be cancelled. This one should be renewed. I loved CBS and followed it when it changed stations in NC. Scorpion was the one show that made me decide to follow.
BRING IT BACK! PLEASE!!!!
I am disappointed that Scorpion has been cancelled! It was among my favorites on television. It is/was the interaction between cast members that is so strong! Next they’ll lose another Blue Bloods character and ruin that incredible show as well. Please keep shows that have strong cast interactions and keep the audience THINKING!
Scorpion is my #1 show to watch on CBS…period.
I can’t Belive that they canceled th show. At least make season 5 as lasts season and dont end it on the sad note. Just cant belive. Im sad.
Cannot believe this was cancelled one of the best shows up there. May cancel my cbs all access
One of the better shows
I agree wit Ciara comment, please just give us some closure, way is it so hard to put everything in season 5 and then end it, you renewed lots of shows that are boring to watch like Big Brother.
Please renewed for 5 season
Thank you
This is ridiculous. Scorpion is one of the best shows with just the right amount of action, humor, and romance. My whole family watches it, from my 10-year-old niece to my 80-year-old grandma and everyone loves it. The ending is so bad it should be illegal! How often do you come across a show that 4 different generations with various tastes can watch? At least give us a proper closure, not this massive cliffhanger that left us all disappointed and frustrated.
