CBS has cancelled its Scorpion TV show after four seasons. The season, which began with a musical episode, weill be this series’ swan song.
A CBS action drama, Scorpion stars Elyes Gabel, Katharine McPhee, Eddie Kay Thomas, Jadyn Wong, Ari Stidham, Robert Patrick, Riley B. Smith, Andy Buckley, Jamie McShane, Joshua Leonard, Dan Dratch, and Scott Porter. Inspired by a real-life computer expert, the series centers on Walter O’Brien (Gabel) and his team of brilliant misfits. Team Scorpion is the country’s last line of defense against lurking high-tech threats.
Scorpion: A Look at the Ratings
The fourth season of Scorpion is averaging a 0.81 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.26 million viewers. Compared to season three, that’s down by about 32% and down by 27%, respectively. By both measures, Scorpion is consistently among the lowest rated scripted CBS TV shows.
All told, today CBS cancelled two TV shows: Superior Donuts and Scorpion. The network also renewed five series: Criminal Minds (season 14); Man With a Plan (season three); Life in Pieces (season four); Instinct (season two); and Big Brother: Celebrity Edition (season two).
UPDATE: CBS has cancelled Kevin Can Wait and has renewed Elementary for season seven.
Deadline has confirmed the Scorpion cancellation.

Pls don’t cancel the show! I’m from Germany and a lot of ppl LOVE this show! Even if the ratings dropped 35%. There are still a lot of viewers out there who love the show. Pls don’t cancel it!

I think canceling scorpion was a horrible idea. It was entertaining, quirky, the characters were lovable, and the team together was awesome. There are four households in my family that watched it religiously. I would not talk to anybody, text , email or except phone calls during the show. This is so beyond upsetting, I cannot even tell you.
Glad to see it go. Gives me another good reason to stop watching regular tv and go with streaming. I really liked this one but wondered if streaming was right for me… IT IS NOW!!! Thank you network tv for helping me cut the cord.

The ending now socks give them another season many people love this show and it deserves another season if nothing else to wrap up a better ending
CBS definitely needed to give the show a better ending. Another season was definitely needed…or at least give Scorpion fans a 2-hour encore presentation that will wrap it all up and give us some closure.

One of our all time favorite shows. I can’t bwlive they cancelled it and with such a terrible ending. Why didn’t they at least give one more season. Oh my goodness I’m so sad. Please bring it back.

There is only so much mindless tv one can watch. At least Scorpion was entertaining and, I felt, a learning experience. Did your writers run out of ideas so you are throwing in the towel? This was a fascinating premise and was not the same old crime story/reality TV. Perhaps another network will be more interested than CBS. It was probably too dense for their network execs to understand…
