It’s a sad day for Sense8 fans. Recently, Netflix addressed the fans’ efforts to save the cancelled TV series.
From the Wachowskis, the drama follows eight people from different parts of the world who are mentally connected to each other. The cast includes Tina Desai, Miguel Angel Silvestre, Jamie Clayton, Tuppence Middleton, Donna Bae, Brian J. Smith, Max Riemelt, and Toby Onwumere.
Only a few weeks after Sense8‘s season two premiere in May, Netflix announced the series was cancelled. Both the cast and fans were upset, and some vowed to save the show through petitions and messages.
However, it looks like those efforts didn’t pay off. This week, Netflix posted a message to the fans of Sense8, saying they considered reviving the series but ultimately the show will remain cancelled:
What do you think? Are you a fan of Sense8? Are you angry at Netflix?
I’m very upset a good show that has the values and shows the public acceptance of other’s views and lifestyle. This show was airing at a time when we need it most. Bring it back.
Even though I am a mature retired person I really am disappointed that Netflix decided to cancel the show. The production quality was exceptional as well as the exposure for a wide spectrum of talented young actors. The so called popularity of “highly rated” shows as against “quality” gives me great concern for the future of cable and so called free to air.
not happy they should have a season 3
Really sad. Best thing on Netflix. Suspect Doona Bae and myself may not now ever happen!
Great great and very intelligent shows. Fight scenes are so kick ass – John Wick style. As you keep progressing to the next episode it just gets better and addictive. My girl friend recommend me watched this show. So I binge watch season 1 and 2 yesterday. Plot, storyline, acting, characters, action, humor are all
in this show. Wow- just love the fight scenes…better than Netflix Daredevil. The last time there is a show with great kick ass john wick fight scenes was Cinemax’s Banshee 2 years back. Heard Netflix cancelled Sense8 …..such a loss for me.
Sense8 is in par with Game of Thrones or almost. Very very unique and one of a kind of show. We love it. But as what Netflix VP mentioned that the show’s audience figures does not much it’s cost. Not many people in the world know what is Sense8. Netflix failed to promote this wonderful show. Netflix should have continue producing Sense8 cause slowly it is gaining more new fans and audiences tru word of of mouth from people who have seen the show. Take for instance GOT and The Walking Dead. Both these shows started slow on its first… Read more »
BEYOND BAD CALL!!! This is one of the shows I look forward to and am addicted to. This is the first series in a very long that actually makes you THINK!! There are so many different things going on at once it captivates your mind as well as your attention. I for one am truly angry about the decision to cancel Sense 8 because this is like the THIRD series that Netflix has introduced and I was excited to see season 2 and it had been canceled!!!! its because of series like this that forces me to keep my subscription.… Read more »
Bad call Netflix…. you had a real winner with Sense8. Its a shame that you haven’t listened to us fans about Sense8.
It seems that you forget you viewed are not just fans but also subscribers. Who might just consider Reviewing our monthly subscription if Netflix can’t reward loyal fans (AKA subscribers) by sticking with a quality production like Sense8.
Good cancelled. Not on iTunes so no need to buy.
Sorry Netflix not buying your sorry excuse that ‘you’ve listened to us’ etc.
FYI, vewers have very long memories about being treated inconsiderately.
I am so angry and upset with netflix, they blew off an entire fandom with that tacky post. Not even posting it under the @netflix account but under the @Sense8 thinking/hoping that we would be fooled into thinking it was the show runners who were making the statement. Now they have started reporting people who are using the hashtag #NoSense8NoNetflix and getting people banned from twitter, because we flood their posts. PR nightmare they have wrought for themselves. idiots.
Since time is precious for a working man, I will not even watch the second season of Sense8 since it doesn’t have an ending. But obviously I will watch Netflix’s behaviour with its series because I like a network that compromises with their audience or it will become like Fox that I never trust with new shows.
Sad to hear you won’t “finish” the series, season 2 was amazing despite the cliffhanger
Sense8 is arguably the most progressive series yet. More so, it is entertaining as anything I’ve encountered on TV. By Netflix cancelling the show, they set a precedent indicating their disregard for people who are invested in quality shows who value continuity.
I love the sense 8 I think you will lose many Netflix costumers because of this and maybe me as well I’ll find another like Hulu instead you should really finish the series.
I was very sad to hear that SENSE8 had been canceled. If anything you should have the obligation have an ending for the series.
I agree. I get they don’t want to continue the series, they’ve made that clear. But it wouldn’t cost them much to make a “closure episode” of some kind, and it would be invaluable for customer loyalty.
