At the kickoff, the first season of the Sharp Objects TV show seems likely to be the only one. The HBO TV series appears to be more of the mini-series type of “limited event.” but that was once the case with Big Little Lies, which ultimately got a season two renewal. While the pay-cable network doesn’t relying on advertising rates, the Nielsen ratings give us a good idea of how popular the show is with subscribers. Is this a “one-and-done” drama, or is there more to come? Will Sharp Objects be cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned. *7/26/18 update below.
An HBO psychological thriller from novelist Gillian Flynn and Marti Noxon, Sharp Objects stars Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina, Eliza Scanlen, Elizabeth Perkins, Matt Craven, Henry Czerny, Miguel Sandoval, Taylor John Smith, Sophia Lillis, and Madison Davenport. Unfolding in Missouri, Sharp Objects follows St. Louis newspaper reporter Camille Preaker (Adams) as she returns to her small hometown to file a story about two missing girls. Trying to piece together a psychological puzzle from her past, Camille finds herself identifying with the young victims a bit too closely.

Look forward forward forward to miniseries so good love it this show.
Please renew this mysterious and thrilling series. Acting is wonderful ; give me more. I need the complete story. The show is unique. Do not squash unique. Renew please.
storyline is good but it goes very slow if it werent for Amy Adams i would have stopped
I second that opinion as well, besides, we get a diverse type of actors and actresses. It’s nice seeing Amy doing some television instead of just movies, and also for HBO. The last time she did something nice also was playing a fairytale princess in Disney’s Enchanted, Giselle was particularly fun to watch, and travelling to some Irish place so she could meet with her future husband cardiologist – in the movie Leap Year, was a nice treat.
Please renew this for another season!! It’s definitely one you have to pay attention to and that’s the point of the show…figuring out what’s doing on! (like the TV series Lost).
It is sooo slow. Also, kind of boring, even though the story line is strong. Long languid shots, very artsy, but more of a distraction than an asset. I would like the story to just get on with it – more plot and fewer visuals.
Looks like no one watches this show. Let it be canceled.
