What’s This TV Show About?
A USA Network action drama, Shooter stars Ryan Phillippe, Omar Epps, Shantel VanSanten, Cynthia Addai-Robinson, and Jesse Bradford. Based on Stephen Hunter’s novel, Point of Impact, and the 2007 Mark Wahlberg film, Shooter centers on expert marksman Bob Lee Swagger (Phillippe). Despite being retired and living in exile, Swagger is coaxed back into action for the most important mission of his lifetime. In the third season, he discovers details surrounding his father’s death, which lead toward a shocking conspiracy.
Season Three Ratings
The third season of Shooter averaged a 0.18 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 730,000 viewers. Compared to season two, that’s down by 47% and 42%, respectively. Check out how Shooter stacks up against other USA Network TV shows.

Will USA Network cancel or renew Shooter for season four? The ratings are way down but it’s still a middle-of-the-road performer for the channel. I think it will be renewed but they could easily cancel it instead. I’ll keep an eye on the ratings and update this page with breaking developments. This is one tv show that me and my mom enjoy watching. Really a disappointment that USA is not renewing for a Fourth Seaon.

I hope that they reconsider. I greatly preferred the show Shooter to the movie. I would happily watch on USA or another network.
I am still annoyed at TNT for cancelling Legends and SyFy for cancelling Hunters.
I’m so tired of investing so much time in a series & getting it yanked off. USA is nor the only station that does this but it has gotten OLD. I wish they would listen to the viewers we are the ones that have supported the station with always coming back. It’s so easy to just axe them & fire everyone that’s really an awful thing to do. I hope they make a season 4 of the shooter because I think it’s a good show. I buy all the seasons and every TV show has their up’s and downs but I think season 4 can close and finish off the story. I dislike it when they get a good TV show going and then they don’t finish off the story or it gets cancelled the first season there’s been many shows that I like to watch that were one season long and they could at least win a second season to finish up the story line or to… Read more »
I soooo agree with you, Scott! I am fed up with getting so involved in a show & loving it and then the stupid network cancels it. I hate that they only include 18-49 year olds in the ratings demographic (our household is just outside of that group). They should include ALL viewers in the ratings!
Just like all the other networks canceling great shows like shooter and putting on stupid ones I about done watching tv to many stupid shows on now.
I’m surprised it made it this far. Ryan just doesn’t cut it for this part. It’s not suited to him. He’s more of a college kid movie type where he is trying out for the soccer team and getting burned by his girlfriend. He just doesn’t have the rough and tumble spirit to play a part like this convincingly. I had a hard time not shaking my head watching him in this.
Would love to see the Shooter renewed, I was disappointed to hear of its cancellation.
Please Renee Shooter for as many seasons as possible. It is one of the best shows on USA. I can think of so many other shows that need to be cancelled and Shooter is not one of them. They should get rid of shoes like The Purge, who wants to see that. It gives people and ideas. Shooter is superbly written and Ryan Phillippe plays the he’ll out of that part.
