CROWN MEDIA FAMILY NETWORKS ANNOUNCES ‘SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED’ FROM MARTHA WILLIAMSON, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF ‘TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL,’ MOVES TO HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES WITH NEW EXTENDED FORMAT
Franchise to Include Multiple 2-Hour Original Movies; First Film, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas,” Premieres November 23
Crown Media Family Networks announced today that Hallmark Channel original weekly scripted series, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” executive produced and written by Martha Williamson (Executive Producer of “Touched by an Angel”), will move to sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries as a movie franchise consisting of a series of two-hour original films. Debuting on November 23 at 9pm ET/PT, 8C, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas” will be the first movie in the franchise, with three more slated for 2015.
“We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Martha Williamson and to bring her brand of rich and poignant stories to viewers on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries,” said Michelle Vicary, executive vice president, programming and network publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “At their core, the narratives on ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ revolve around mystery and suspense, with compelling characters and dramatic storylines that will be enhanced by an extended format.”
“When Bill Abbott and Michelle Vicary asked if I can evolve the ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ franchise into a series of movies, I was honored to continue the Hallmark tradition of quality family movies,” said series Creator and Executive Producer Martha Williamson. “At the heart of ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ is Oliver, a modern day gentleman with old world values played brilliantly by Eric Mabius,” she added. “He and his wonderful team of postal detectives will continue to surprise us and sometimes make us laugh as they work to solve mysteries behind letters, even mysteries of life.”
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will introduce viewers to the “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” franchise by airing a marathon of the series on Saturday, October 11 from 11am – 11pm ET/PT, 10C.
Returning as the “POstables,” Oliver O’Toole (Eric Mabius, “Ugly Betty”), Shane McInerney (Kristin Booth, “Orphan Black”), Rita Haywith (Crystal Lowe, “Smallville”) and Norman Dorman (Geoff Gustafson “Primeval: New World”) will take millions of viewers on new adventures as they uncover the mysteries of lost missives and return them to their intended recipients, profoundly changing lives in the process.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a comedic drama that follows the lives of a group of postal workers who transform themselves into an untraditional team of detectives to track down intended recipients of undeliverable mail. Their missions take them out of the office into an unpredictable world where redirected letters and packages can save lives, solve crimes, reunite old loves and change futures by arriving late but somehow on time.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a Muse Entertainment production in association with MoonWater Productions. Executive Producers are Martha Williamson (“Touched by an Angel”), Joel S. Rice (“Cyberbully”) and Michael Prupas (“The Kennedys”). Harvey Kahn (“The Haunting Hour”) is the producer.

ABOUT MARTHA WILLIAMSON
Martha Williamson made television history when her CBS series “Touched By An Angel” set a new standard for an inspirational family drama when it grew to a weekly audience of 25 million viewers during its initial nine year run. As Executive Producer of the ground-breaking series, she was the visionary who guided the series into previously uncharted territory with her unique brand of storytelling that produced more than strong ratings; it changed lives. Murray Responsibility in Television Award, the Templeton Prize Epiphany Award and nine Emmy(R) nominations.
What do you think? Is this a good move? Would you prefer that it continue as a weekly series or are you okay with a series of movies instead?
I just got the chance to watch the Christmas special of “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” that I had dvr’d. I typically buzz through all of the commercials, but then I saw an extended clip with what looked like additional information about the show, so I backed it up and watched it . . . then watched it again to make sure I heard what I had thought I heard. Really? This is so disheartening! I am a huge fan of the show and was SO looking forward to watching it again this coming season. Season one was terrific – in fact… Read more »
Just this week I was introduced to your show and I am so disappointed that you do not plan to continue the series. It is nearly impossible to find shows that are not full of sex and violence. Please keep the series going. It is more acceptable to more people. Do the right thing and dont follow the Hollywood way. Save a decent show.
There is such a thing as unintended consequences. I believe there will be some from this decission. Although I believe I understand the reasoning, what I don’t think you have completely thought through are the amount of people who you reach and need this program who can’t respond to you in a forum like this. So please, all of you, rethink the idea of dropping the one hour series. for ‘just’ the movies. In either case, thank you ALL so much for your work and heartfelt facial expressions. One of Gods children.
I want the series and the 2 hour movie specials.
I like the weekly series the best.
Please bring back Signed Sealed & Delivered as a weekly show. It was such an inspiration! I looked forward to it every week & always found the story line so uplifting. The idea of Signed Sealed & Delivered movies is great but do that in addition to a weekly series. With so much “junk” on tv it’s a shame not to keep something as good as Signed Sealed & Delivered going.
I loved that show and was so excited to see it starting again. I didn’t see it listed in the paper or on the Guide on TV that night. I reread the email I had received. I see now – after I did a search that it is on a different Hallmark channel that we don’t get. I’m so bummed!! I looked forward to that being on TV every week.
I was sick to find out I can no longer see Signed, Sealed, Delivered on Hallmark Channel. I loved this show, set to record and watched each week religiosly when debuted and couldn’t wait for more seasons. Now I find out I can’t see it anymore. Come on, this was a show my entire family enjoyed, even my 15 year old twins (boys at that).
Why ????
this is a fantastic show, wholesome and down to earth, not like many these days. I was looking forward to the weekly series but you buttheds always have to change the ones that are good..why is that? and changing channels, why is that? not everyone gets every channel. the movies sound good but some of us prefer the weekly series, why fix something if it’s not broke? I say keep it going weekly. thanks…Don Moyer, Apache Junction, Az.
Would love to keep seeing the weekly series but the movie was Awesome! Too bad you can’t do both. Can’t wit till the next movie!
NO BRAINER!!! Why can’t you KEEP doing the weekly show and 3 times a year (or more) do MOVIES as well! PLEASE!!! Good programs are very difficult to find on TV these days!
Bring Oliver O’Toole (Eric Mabius), Shane McInerney (Kristin Booth), Rita Haywith (Crystal Lowe) and Norman Dorman (Geoff Gustafson) back WEEKLY! PLEASE!!!
And do MOVIES as well! Absolutely LOVED the Christmas MOVIE and will be buying it and the FIRST season as well–Get IT–the FIRST season! Thank you!
I love this weekly show and was looking forward to the next season. Unfortunately, I will have to bid the postal detectives farewell as in our area the Hallmark Channel is part of our basic cable package, but the Hallmark Movies and Mysteries can only be accessed by upgrading to a premium package which we cannot afford. I will miss this program. I hope that you do not decide to do the same with Cedar Cove. Thanks for listening.
I am very sad to hear that signed sealed delivered is not coming back on as a weekly series I love that show its so inspirational we need more shows like this I so love touch by an angel I miss that show as well. I would hope the Hallmark Channel will consider bringing it back as a weekly series please please please happy Thanksgiving Merry Christmas and Happy New Year
I liked the tv show, weekly.
Great stories!
Weekly PLEASE!
