Franchise to Include Multiple 2-Hour Original Movies; First Film, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas,” Premieres November 23
Crown Media Family Networks announced today that Hallmark Channel original weekly scripted series, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” executive produced and written by Martha Williamson (Executive Producer of “Touched by an Angel”), will move to sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries as a movie franchise consisting of a series of two-hour original films. Debuting on November 23 at 9pm ET/PT, 8C, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas” will be the first movie in the franchise, with three more slated for 2015.
“We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Martha Williamson and to bring her brand of rich and poignant stories to viewers on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries,” said Michelle Vicary, executive vice president, programming and network publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “At their core, the narratives on ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ revolve around mystery and suspense, with compelling characters and dramatic storylines that will be enhanced by an extended format.”
“When Bill Abbott and Michelle Vicary asked if I can evolve the ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ franchise into a series of movies, I was honored to continue the Hallmark tradition of quality family movies,” said series Creator and Executive Producer Martha Williamson. “At the heart of ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ is Oliver, a modern day gentleman with old world values played brilliantly by Eric Mabius,” she added. “He and his wonderful team of postal detectives will continue to surprise us and sometimes make us laugh as they work to solve mysteries behind letters, even mysteries of life.”
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will introduce viewers to the “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” franchise by airing a marathon of the series on Saturday, October 11 from 11am – 11pm ET/PT, 10C.
Returning as the “POstables,” Oliver O’Toole (Eric Mabius, “Ugly Betty”), Shane McInerney (Kristin Booth, “Orphan Black”), Rita Haywith (Crystal Lowe, “Smallville”) and Norman Dorman (Geoff Gustafson “Primeval: New World”) will take millions of viewers on new adventures as they uncover the mysteries of lost missives and return them to their intended recipients, profoundly changing lives in the process.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a comedic drama that follows the lives of a group of postal workers who transform themselves into an untraditional team of detectives to track down intended recipients of undeliverable mail. Their missions take them out of the office into an unpredictable world where redirected letters and packages can save lives, solve crimes, reunite old loves and change futures by arriving late but somehow on time.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a Muse Entertainment production in association with MoonWater Productions. Executive Producers are Martha Williamson (“Touched by an Angel”), Joel S. Rice (“Cyberbully”) and Michael Prupas (“The Kennedys”). Harvey Kahn (“The Haunting Hour”) is the producer.

ABOUT MARTHA WILLIAMSON
Martha Williamson made television history when her CBS series “Touched By An Angel” set a new standard for an inspirational family drama when it grew to a weekly audience of 25 million viewers during its initial nine year run. As Executive Producer of the ground-breaking series, she was the visionary who guided the series into previously uncharted territory with her unique brand of storytelling that produced more than strong ratings; it changed lives. She went on to seal her place in history when she became the first woman to solely executive produce two one-hours simultaneously with “Promised Land,” which aired for three years on CBS. She began her career in comedy with the producing teams for Carol Burnett and Joan Rivers and went on to write and produce situation comedies such as “The Facts of Life,” “Family Man” and “Jack’s Place” for all the networks before making the transition to one-hour drama. Her work has been inducted into the Television and Radio Hall of Fame and honored with numerous awards, including the Edward R. Murray Responsibility in Television Award, the Templeton Prize Epiphany Award and nine Emmy(R) nominations.
What do you think? Is this a good move? Would you prefer that it continue as a weekly series or are you okay with a series of movies instead?
I really wish that Signed, Sealed, Delivery would come back as a weekly series; I love the movies, but the anticipation of having to wait makes me sad. I much rather we see the wonderful postal detectives each week, I just love everything about the plot, story lines, and the cast is magnificent. Please reconsider and put the show back on weekly I so looked forward to see it every week. I just fell in love w/the show immediately after watching the 2 hour movie; Please don’t fix what is not broken – the television series really is a gem… Read more »
I absolutely LOVED the series. I looked forward to seeing them weekly. It’s going to be hard to wait for several months before the next movie. I think it was a great series and each of the regulars were fantastic in their parts. Love the interplay and hope you keep this going for a long time……….years!!!!!!
I agree also. Series please!
I already missed the first ‘Signed, sealed, & delivered movie.
Not good. Bring back the series. You can throw in extended episodes once in awhile but the weekly series is the way to go!!!
I like the series every week.It gives you something to look for on Tv.You don’t know what or when it will be on.This way you know what time it is. Why does when something gets good on TV,somebody has got to spoil itThe producers can never leave anything alone. They get a good thing going, then they have to spoil it.they don’t want anybody to watch their programs.
Even my 4 year ok loves this show, and its better than most shows made for kids. We will be thrilled to watch these lovely family stories whether they are shows or movies, but its disheartening that it wouldn’t continue as a series. There are hardly any wholesome weekly shows anymore and this was possibly the best one I had ever seen. Sad we won’t be able to visit the postables every week.
Sounds to me Hallmark it outvoted! The PEOPLE WANT A WEEKLY SERIES OF SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED!!! Hope you’re listening Hallmark!!! Each time you disappoint us, it makes us like you less and less and NOT want to pay extra to have your channel! Keep that in mind when your channel flops!
Why when we have a show that is delightful, good for the whole family and something you looked forward to each week…the big guys change it???????? I for one and probably many more don’t agree with the change…I also, do not get the sister channel and so now I will never see the show….PLEASE RECONSIDER THE CHANGE……
I loved the weekly series! I am glad it is not completely gone, but would prefer the weekly series.
Definitely prefer it as a series. I don’t like this change. What a good show it was. I hear a lot of people saying they don’t have the Hallmark Movie Channel, so they are losing viewers. Doesn’t seem like a smart move to me.
ditto what carl williams said
I was very disappointed at the cancellation of Signed, Sealed, Delivered. I think it was one of the best series on TV. Very enjoyable to wath and the characters in the series worked so well together. I hope tomsee it reurn to TV as a weekly series. Than you.
Signed, Sealed Delivered was one of my favorite new shows this year, and I am VERY sorry to hear it will not continue as a weekly series! My understanding was that the ratings were quite good, and I believe the general public wants good, wholesome “feel good” shows for the whole family! We want shows that give us hope and make us feel good about humanity……like “Touched By an Angel” and “Highway to Heaven.” I am glad we will get the occasional movie, but looked forward to this weekly show. There are some apparent changed going on with The Hallmark… Read more »
I really enjoyed the weekly series, and looked forward to each new episode. I watched the Christmas movie & enjoyed it, too. My preference would be the weekly episodes, but if this is the only way to follow the Postables’ stories, I will try to catch the upcoming movies.
I agree! WEEKLY SERIES PLEASE! Like someone else said – WHY CHANGE A GOOD THING WHEN YOU’VE GOT IT??????
Why would they want to cancel a show as good as Signed, Sealed, Delivered. It doesn’t matter what network, whenever a really great show is aired, some corporate idiot wants to cancel it.
We love the Signed Sealed Delivered series and look forward to the weekly installments of faith, hope & love, but wouldn’t mind a few seasonal specials. Like Touched by an Angel, the show makes us smile, laugh & cry. Please keep the series going.
Can I go online and watch the movie? If so tell me how.
I would very much like to see the weekly series too.
