CROWN MEDIA FAMILY NETWORKS ANNOUNCES ‘SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED’ FROM MARTHA WILLIAMSON, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF ‘TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL,’ MOVES TO HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES WITH NEW EXTENDED FORMAT
Franchise to Include Multiple 2-Hour Original Movies; First Film, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas,” Premieres November 23
Crown Media Family Networks announced today that Hallmark Channel original weekly scripted series, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” executive produced and written by Martha Williamson (Executive Producer of “Touched by an Angel”), will move to sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries as a movie franchise consisting of a series of two-hour original films. Debuting on November 23 at 9pm ET/PT, 8C, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas” will be the first movie in the franchise, with three more slated for 2015.
“We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Martha Williamson and to bring her brand of rich and poignant stories to viewers on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries,” said Michelle Vicary, executive vice president, programming and network publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “At their core, the narratives on ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ revolve around mystery and suspense, with compelling characters and dramatic storylines that will be enhanced by an extended format.”
“When Bill Abbott and Michelle Vicary asked if I can evolve the ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ franchise into a series of movies, I was honored to continue the Hallmark tradition of quality family movies,” said series Creator and Executive Producer Martha Williamson. “At the heart of ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ is Oliver, a modern day gentleman with old world values played brilliantly by Eric Mabius,” she added. “He and his wonderful team of postal detectives will continue to surprise us and sometimes make us laugh as they work to solve mysteries behind letters, even mysteries of life.”
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will introduce viewers to the “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” franchise by airing a marathon of the series on Saturday, October 11 from 11am – 11pm ET/PT, 10C.
Returning as the “POstables,” Oliver O’Toole (Eric Mabius, “Ugly Betty”), Shane McInerney (Kristin Booth, “Orphan Black”), Rita Haywith (Crystal Lowe, “Smallville”) and Norman Dorman (Geoff Gustafson “Primeval: New World”) will take millions of viewers on new adventures as they uncover the mysteries of lost missives and return them to their intended recipients, profoundly changing lives in the process.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a comedic drama that follows the lives of a group of postal workers who transform themselves into an untraditional team of detectives to track down intended recipients of undeliverable mail. Their missions take them out of the office into an unpredictable world where redirected letters and packages can save lives, solve crimes, reunite old loves and change futures by arriving late but somehow on time.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a Muse Entertainment production in association with MoonWater Productions. Executive Producers are Martha Williamson (“Touched by an Angel”), Joel S. Rice (“Cyberbully”) and Michael Prupas (“The Kennedys”). Harvey Kahn (“The Haunting Hour”) is the producer.

ABOUT MARTHA WILLIAMSON
Martha Williamson made television history when her CBS series “Touched By An Angel” set a new standard for an inspirational family drama when it grew to a weekly audience of 25 million viewers during its initial nine year run. As Executive Producer of the ground-breaking series, she was the visionary who guided the series into previously uncharted territory with her unique brand of storytelling that produced more than strong ratings; it changed lives. She went on to seal her place in history when she became the first woman to solely executive produce two one-hours simultaneously with “Promised Land,” which aired for three years on CBS. She began her career in comedy with the producing teams for Carol Burnett and Joan Rivers and went on to write and produce situation comedies such as “The Facts of Life,” “Family Man” and “Jack’s Place” for all the networks before making the transition to one-hour drama. Her work has been inducted into the Television and Radio Hall of Fame and honored with numerous awards, including the Edward R. Murray Responsibility in Television Award, the Templeton Prize Epiphany Award and nine Emmy(R) nominations.
What do you think? Is this a good move? Would you prefer that it continue as a weekly series or are you okay with a series of movies instead?
REALLY REALLY REALLY wish Signed Sealed Delivered was still a weekly show on Hallmark. It is /was one of the BEST shows on television!
I believe Hallmark made a bad move. I would prefer Signed,Sealed, Delivered being a regular series. I looked forward
Each week to a new show. There’s not many good honest shows on TV anymore. I’m disappointed that Hallmark made this change.
Love this show and will be happy with weekly or movies just so we can continue watching this talented group as often as possible. We still enjoy Touched by an Angel reruns and have been a fan of the show from when it first went on tv. Would love more wholesome and inspirational shows! Hallmark movies are my faviorite channels.
I so enjoyed this show I hope it is not over. It is better than When Calls the Heart and I have enjoyed that series.
I really enjoyed watching Signed, Sealed, Delivered. It is a wholesome show, inspiring and entertaining. The cast was picked right. They all portrayed their character very well! I miss the show. I looked forward to watch it even just once a week, after a day of taking care of patients. When will “SSD from Paris with Love” come to regular Hallmark Channel? Please keep us posted .
Thank you .

We, as a family, loved the original movie. We were all glad to know a fantastic, wholesome, family weekly series developed thereafter. We looked forward every week to come together as a family to watch the next mystery unfold. It’s great family entertainment! Although the seasonal movie or extended episode is appreciated, I think we prefer the weekly show.

I love SSD & I’ll take it any way I can get it but I wish it was a weekly, one hour show. Love the writing & the characters! Thank you for great programming!!!
It is much too easy to miss the random movie since I don’t sit at my screen all that much. I did make a special point to reserve one hour a week for this heartwarming, wholesome show…much like the wonderful WALTONS. Please, PLEASE bring this show back as a series.
I totally love this show and all the actors in it. I would love to see it continue as a series with new episodes. It is truly a ‘feel good’ show and we need more of these.
I enjoy watching Signed Sealed and Delivered, it is a show that we watch as a family that has good, cute humor with great meaningful messages. I enjoyed watching it each week, but I also enjoy the 2 hr movie. I cannot get enough of it either way. I would not tire of it and I hope that the story lines stay consistent with that same early intent and purpose. I hope that it runs as long as Touched by an Angel did. Keep up the good work, this country needs GOOD wholesome shows, we need more to combat the… Read more »
I enjoy the weekly shows and would love to see them continue. Please reconsider and keep them coming back. It always seems there is a wonderful, thought provoking show, networks always take them away. Why is that. This show had a wonderful content and I enjoyed it .
Signed is one of the most clever, creative, super wholesome shows I have ever watched. The personalities are great, the unfolding of their past and challenges of the present are well developed, and the positive changes in each of their lives through the interaction of their friendships was inspiring. The whole concept of investigative dead letter office opens the door to a world of needy, important folk. I will be very disappointed and the world will loss one of the best devised and directed and acted shows if Signed does not continue. I weep after each show and I’m a… Read more »
So sorry to see the weekly series cancelled. I was a fan from the beginning and so happy to have one show on television that we could sit down and watch as a family without sex, violence, profanity etc. etc.etc. Very inspirational, heartwarming and fun. Love all the characters – they just go together. Each week was a refreshing hour of escape and very much needed on the horrible landscape of tv shows that air on cable in this day and age. Hope to see it return as a weekly series, but will love the two hour long movies as… Read more »
I love the show and love Martha Williamson’s message. I would prefer to have 6 weekly shows rather than 3 two hour movies at random times during the year because it is too easy to miss the random movie and I loved how each one hour show ended happily, so there is no reason to make it into two hours. Of course, the story continued and I love the chemistry between all of the characters and how they are growing. Unfortunately, I do not get the Hallmark Mysteries channel, but fortunately my cable co provided it the day of the… Read more »
Why can’t the series be shown on both hallmark channels? My budget does not allow me to purchase the movie hallmark channel. I love the first series and was so hoping it would come back. There’s not a lot of good decent tv shows on these days and it was very nice to have Sign, Seal & Delivered to watch. I’m sad that I want be able to see it again. Wish you could change your mine !
