CROWN MEDIA FAMILY NETWORKS ANNOUNCES ‘SIGNED, SEALED, DELIVERED’ FROM MARTHA WILLIAMSON, EXECUTIVE PRODUCER OF ‘TOUCHED BY AN ANGEL,’ MOVES TO HALLMARK MOVIES & MYSTERIES WITH NEW EXTENDED FORMAT
Franchise to Include Multiple 2-Hour Original Movies; First Film, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas,” Premieres November 23
Crown Media Family Networks announced today that Hallmark Channel original weekly scripted series, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” executive produced and written by Martha Williamson (Executive Producer of “Touched by an Angel”), will move to sister network Hallmark Movies & Mysteries as a movie franchise consisting of a series of two-hour original films. Debuting on November 23 at 9pm ET/PT, 8C, “Signed, Sealed, Delivered For Christmas” will be the first movie in the franchise, with three more slated for 2015.
“We are delighted to be continuing our partnership with Martha Williamson and to bring her brand of rich and poignant stories to viewers on Hallmark Movies & Mysteries,” said Michelle Vicary, executive vice president, programming and network publicity, Crown Media Family Networks. “At their core, the narratives on ‘Signed, Sealed, Delivered’ revolve around mystery and suspense, with compelling characters and dramatic storylines that will be enhanced by an extended format.”
“When Bill Abbott and Michelle Vicary asked if I can evolve the ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ franchise into a series of movies, I was honored to continue the Hallmark tradition of quality family movies,” said series Creator and Executive Producer Martha Williamson. “At the heart of ‘Signed Sealed Delivered’ is Oliver, a modern day gentleman with old world values played brilliantly by Eric Mabius,” she added. “He and his wonderful team of postal detectives will continue to surprise us and sometimes make us laugh as they work to solve mysteries behind letters, even mysteries of life.”
Hallmark Movies & Mysteries will introduce viewers to the “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” franchise by airing a marathon of the series on Saturday, October 11 from 11am – 11pm ET/PT, 10C.
Returning as the “POstables,” Oliver O’Toole (Eric Mabius, “Ugly Betty”), Shane McInerney (Kristin Booth, “Orphan Black”), Rita Haywith (Crystal Lowe, “Smallville”) and Norman Dorman (Geoff Gustafson “Primeval: New World”) will take millions of viewers on new adventures as they uncover the mysteries of lost missives and return them to their intended recipients, profoundly changing lives in the process.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a comedic drama that follows the lives of a group of postal workers who transform themselves into an untraditional team of detectives to track down intended recipients of undeliverable mail. Their missions take them out of the office into an unpredictable world where redirected letters and packages can save lives, solve crimes, reunite old loves and change futures by arriving late but somehow on time.
“Signed, Sealed, Delivered” is a Muse Entertainment production in association with MoonWater Productions. Executive Producers are Martha Williamson (“Touched by an Angel”), Joel S. Rice (“Cyberbully”) and Michael Prupas (“The Kennedys”). Harvey Kahn (“The Haunting Hour”) is the producer.

ABOUT MARTHA WILLIAMSON
Martha Williamson made television history when her CBS series “Touched By An Angel” set a new standard for an inspirational family drama when it grew to a weekly audience of 25 million viewers during its initial nine year run. As Executive Producer of the ground-breaking series, she was the visionary who guided the series into previously uncharted territory with her unique brand of storytelling that produced more than strong ratings; it changed lives. She went on to seal her place in history when she became the first woman to solely executive produce two one-hours simultaneously with “Promised Land,” which aired for three years on CBS. She began her career in comedy with the producing teams for Carol Burnett and Joan Rivers and went on to write and produce situation comedies such as “The Facts of Life,” “Family Man” and “Jack’s Place” for all the networks before making the transition to one-hour drama. Her work has been inducted into the Television and Radio Hall of Fame and honored with numerous awards, including the Edward R. Murray Responsibility in Television Award, the Templeton Prize Epiphany Award and nine Emmy(R) nominations.
What do you think? Is this a good move? Would you prefer that it continue as a weekly series or are you okay with a series of movies instead?
WHAT A HUGE, HUGE, DISAPPOINTMENT!! I’m grateful however, that at least there will be “some” movies to see regarding these super talented scripts and actors! It is such an entertaining and Fun, Fun, show!! BAD MOVE!! Why is it that zombies, blood and guts, war-faring sci-fi and disgusting/family inappropriate TV shows are not changed to movies or canceled? Just drives me crazy – as soon as QUALITY TV programs are debuted and aired, there is soon a move afoot to cancel or morph it into “less than” what it was. A number of my family and friends cannot get the… Read more »
I agree with Bonnie Lee. There is so little good quality, family shows aired weekly. I was so looking forward to season 2. I don’t get the Hallmark Movie channel. Bad decision Hallmark exes! Please change your minds!
Loved the series!! Recorded so my husband and I would not miss it. Please bring back as a weekly show.
I would rather it stay as a weekly series, will miss it but will watch the movies for sure.
I loved the show very much, I hope Hallmark will reconsider there decision to making it into a movie format.
I am so beyond disappointed to find out this show will be on a channel I don’t get. I was looking forward to a season 2, then I read that there would be a movie. Fine with me. But changing channels? Bummer. I guess I’ll find a new show.
Would like it to continue in weekly format. However, I’ll take it in any form I can get. I’m a fan.
Please continue weekly, preferably at 9:00 pm any night
Leave it as a weekly series. I don’t know if I can get the sister channel and won’t be able to watch it. I really liked the series.

Why would you want this to end. Such a beautiful family show that had us all watching with our children. Pls bring it back. Don’t do this. Not all of us have this hallmark channel
Really want the series back too, so happy there is movies though. It is such a great show I can watch with my girls, not many good shows on anymore…
I don’t mind them making it a mini series, but I would have like it to stay on Hallmark.
I agree with all the above. I may not even get the movie & mystery channel.
I would rather see a weekly series. Loved it. I can set my dvr & not ever worry about missing an episode. this way I have to know when it’s on.
I cannot tell you how much I looked forward to watching the 1 hour television series. I played them over and over again and studied their content as well as the actors. I picked up many of the actors responses as well as many of the items that normally get overlooked only seeing the story once. Like for example the sweat shirt on the girl with downs syndrome said “It only one extra gene”. I noticed when Eric and Kristin were dancing to the Bill Joel recording, there was a glance that each of the actors gave to each other… Read more »
My girls grew up on Touched by an Angel. Now the grandkids are hooked on Signed, Sealed and Delivered. Leave it to commercialism to take away the shows that can form lasting, positive memories for all of us and fill all the time slots with more adult content. You finally gave us The Good Witch series but you have taken away our beloved SSD. Please bring back the series, and keep the movies. While you are at it, please start evening reruns of Touched by an Angel, from the beginning please.
Please bring back the series, and you can do the movies also. I really look forward to the show, and I’m sorry I missed the show marathon I just read about, can you do another marathon before the hallmark movie please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I agree too. Also they need to put it back on the original hallmark channel. The hallmark movie and mystery channel we do not get. Please put it back where it originally was.
