So You Think You Can Dance has not yet been officially renewed for a new season by FOX, but the chances of a return for the dance competition series are looking really good. The series is now looking for contestants!
FOX put out a casting call on their website for those interested in trying out for the series to send in their videos and digital entries. In-person auditions and the cities they will occur in have not been announced yet.
This will be season 17 for So You Think You Can Dance. The announcement from FOX is below:
“This season, potential contestants may audition online by registering here and uploading a video or providing a link to a video of their performance. If selected from the video/link auditions by the producers, the producers will contact the potential contestant to schedule an in-person audition. In addition to the digital submissions, a potential contestant also may audition in person. Auditions cities and details will be announced soon!”

I will be terribly disappointed if Fox does not renew SYTYCD. I love the show and look forward to it every year. I was not at all happy with the shortened season/format in 2019 and am hoping Fox will give this show the room it needs.

My family and I love love love SYTYCD! PLEASE RENEW! With that said, I wish you would spend less time on the auditions and more time growing to know and appreciate the top 20 dancers. Also, it seems like the show as a whole is shorter than in seasons past. The caliber of dancing and choreography is so extraordinary and enriching! Also I love that the judges are never mean-spirited, and use their positions to nurture and improve these young dancers’ abilities. In a world where sports and reality shows (nothing against these programs) dominant, it’s refreshing to see enrichment and art for a change. We need the balance. Please renew.
I hope it does return, but wish for the original 20 dancers to be able to compete for the prize in lieu of newer format. Also would like the juniors to come back and compete.
