Soap operas once filled all of the networks’ daytime schedules, but most of them were cancelled years ago. Until this year, just three remained: The Bold and the Beautiful (CBS), General Hospital (ABC), and The Young and the Restless (CBS). In 2025, CBS introduced the first new daytime network soap in 25 years, Beyond the Gates. Are these series here to stay, or are they still living on the edge? Stay tuned.

I started out loving BTG but I am starting to not take it seriously anymore. I must suspend my maturity when I watch. First, they allowed Leslie to get away with attempted murder, and everybody knows, and the characters behave like this is normal. The character Ted is completely ruined. They really made a fool out of him and now he’s a clown like feature. And now if we didn’t have enough cartoonery, one of the top cops, a black man kills another black man, who we were rooting for, and it will be his second time getting away with… Read more »
The Bold and the Beautiful is very entertaining. Keep it up.
The reason General Hospital ratings are fallen no is because the writers won’t have Drew and Willow suffer any consequences, especially Drew who most viewers can’t stand the character.
Have watched B&B since the beginning and will continue! Have tried to watch Gates but just can’t get into it. Too many characters, too many story lines and new people every time I try to watch! Just can’t!!

Beyond the Gates needs a major cast shake up and more compelling stories. Dani can we please replace! The lost child is ridiculous! Turning Dani into an alcoholic and betting the show on her is going to take the series right to cancellation. You have no other family of power that is in play to go after the Dupree family. Poor Laura drove off the rode and has been lost in the hospital ever since – dumb!
Watching Beyond the Gates is like watching a high school play. Very unemotional and immature.
I still look at the young and the restless and now I’m looking at beyond the gates.
I watch all four of the Soaps and I’ve been very disappointed because of the ReUse of old Scripts. Maybe the writers need to start listening to the viewers because I would hate for any of them to be canceled
