TV show description:
This comedy TV series follows the DiMeo family, a loving and sometimes overwhelming group of unique personalities.
Maya DiMeo (Minnie Driver) is a no-nonsense and sometimes outlandish mom on a mission. She’ll do anything for her loved ones and fights injustices — both real and imagined. Her husband, Jimmy (John Ross Bowie), is a bit overwhelmed by his wife and is smarter than he believes himself to be.
Ray (Mason Cook) is their brainy middle child. Dylan (Kyla Kennedy) is their take no prisoners athletic and youngest child. JJ (Micah Fowler) is their eldest, teenage son who has cerebral palsy.
As the series begins, Maya moves the family from a middle-class neighborhood to an upscale school district. She’s searching for just the right person to give JJ his “voice.” Could the school’s groundskeeper, Kenneth (Cedric Yarbrough), be the person to do that?
Episode #63, “U-N-R– UNREALISTIC”
Maya braces for JJ’s high school graduation and departure for college, but tough news from NYU changes everything. Dylan teaches Jimmy a “Dad lesson” as he gets ready for a big job interview. Kenneth pressures JJ to prepare for a grand finale to their time together, and Ray uses his class trip to Catalina to examine his bad luck in love.
First aired: April 12, 2019
What do you think? Do you like the Speechless TV show? Do you think it should have been cancelled or renewed for season four on ABC?

Every Wednesday I watched Speechless On ABC
Daniela and I love this show! But please fire the physical therapist! Oh and Daniela thinks Micah is cute
This is a great show. Please renew it.
I hate this show!!! Please please cancel it and bring back The Middles.
This is the funniest new show this season. (forget Kevin)
The Middle is still on. One of my favorites. It’s a shame it doesn’t get the award’s & recognition other show’s do.
I love this show! I have told everyone they need to watch. It is a great family dhow!
I adore Speechless! Who knew Minnie Driver would be so great at comedy? The entire cast is funny, but she surprises me. There are plenty of shows on TV now that’s all about bathroom humor (Family Guy) and vacuous sex driven yuppies looking to get laid, not to mention the countless reality shows making scores of celebrities out of untalented slobs. TV series like Speechless and The Middle are rare gems. It deserves to be renewed!
I agree Maya is over the top. Jimmy needs a backbone. Love the kids and the “voice” One of the best things about this show it does show a dramatized version of what it is like to part of special needs family
I LOVE this show! My baby brother had cerebal palsy and just passed away this summer and this show is so real and makes me think of him and smile!!
I tuned in to ABC at 8:30pm to watch Speechless and Toy Story is airing. I’m confused, was the show canceled or the season is over?
I love the show best show ever. I like when he wear a harness he should wear it every time. Show how they put it on
I really enjoy the show! Many laugh out loud moments
Loved the show! As a mom of 2 children that are obviously special needs I can relate to the mom. But I will deny thst I have EVER been that bad, just a little bit. Lol! I loved the way that that the whole family watched out for each other regardless if they have a disability or not. Reminds me of my own children and their caring for each other as well as comforting the people around them whether they know them or not.
You’ve got to be kidding me!!! The writing is absolutely terrible!! Minnie is an embarrassment to watch!… Her acting and overall accent tone is terrible! It’s humiliating to watch…and from first hand experience…is intolerable and demeaning! Take it off… And Minnie…get some acting 101 lessons! Sorry speaking from my heart…
Cancel, please. Minnie Driver’s character is thoroughly unlikeable. Being the loving mom of a special needs child does not give you the right to drive 62mph in a residential zone, step on flowers just planted by hard-working people, nor humiliate people while you try to educate them. As the mother of a special needs child myself, I recognize that other people have challenges in their daily lives and our situation is not worthy of any more respect than I show to others.
Get real! The show is comedy and over the top and shows special needs parents the same way. And yes we do have special needs child.
Love the show!!!! Wonderful to watch a warm and heartwarming story..
This series is remarkably similar to my copyrighted traditionally published memoir ,”Yo God! Jay’s Story: right down to the boy’s nickname, J.J. The mom’s character and details of the van as well as the incidents and the family. all too alike. Too much so to be coincidental.
