Like many other cable channels, CMT has decided to start producing their own scripted TV shows. They recently picked up Nashville and they already have their own comedy, Still the King. Will it be a ratings success for them? Cancelled or renewed for season two? Stay tuned.
Still the King follows Vernon Brownmule (Billy Ray Cyrus), aka “Burnin’ Vernon”. He’s a scandal-ridden, washed-up, one-hit-wonder who was kicked out of country music. He ends up pretending to be a small town’s new minister and reconnects with a former one-night-stand and his previously-unknown 15-year-old daughter. The rest of the cast includes Joey Lauren Adams, Madison Iseman, Jon Sewell, Travis Nicholson, Leslie David Baker, Kevin Farley, and Justin Dray.
The ratings are typically the best indication of a show’s chances of staying on the air. This chart will be updated as new ratings data becomes available.

This show is so off the wall and ridiculously silly with so many guest stars that show up. BRC with that hilarious wig. I love it because it is so dumb and funny, so it will be canceled because it is entertaining. Too bad.

I thought that the show was amazing and they should renew it but the last time when I was looking if they cancelled the show it said that Billy ray Cyrus was in jail so I guess we will never know if it’s going to be back on +I like Hannah Montana!

This is just a straight up rip off of TV Land’s ‘Impastor’
Totally get why you would think that sir, as “Impastor” came out before we did, but I’d like to set the record straight here. “Still the King” was created in 2012, long before “Impastor”. It took several years to get the show on the air, and when it finally did, Impastor had just come out. Season 2 of STK is on its way (July 11) and differs much more from Impastor. Please give us a chance! Thanks.
I just don not Like Billy Ray anymore. I wont attack why, I just will never watch anything with him on it again.
