Can Dex get ahead in the first season of the Stumptown TV show on ABC? As we all know, the Nielsen ratings typically play a big role in determining whether a TV show like Stumptown is cancelled or renewed for season two. Unfortunately, most of us do not live in Nielsen households. Because many viewers feel frustration when their viewing habits and opinions aren’t considered, we invite you to rate all of the season one episodes of Stumptown for us here. *Status update below.
An ABC drama, this show is based on the graphic novel series by Greg Rucka and Matthew Southworth. Stumptown stars Cobie Smulders, Jake Johnson, Tantoo Cardinal, Cole Sibus, Adrian Martinez, Camryn Manheim, and Michael Ealy. In the TV show, Dex Parios (Smulders) is a strong, assertive and sharp-witted military veteran who lives in Portland, Oregon. She has a complicated love life, gambling debt, and a brother with Down syndrome, Ansel (Sibus), to care for. With only herself to rely on, she solves other people’s messes with a blind eye toward her own. Her military intelligence skills make Dex a great private investigator, but her unapologetic style puts her in the firing line of hardcore criminals and the police aren’t her biggest fans either. Other characters include Grey McConnell (Johnson), a bar owner and Dex’s friend; casino owner Sue Lynn Blackbird (Cardinal); Dex’s friend Tookie (Martinez), a taco food cart owner; and Lieutenant Cosgrove (Manheim) Detective Miles Hoffman (Ealy) of the Portland Police Bureau.

I love and can’t wait for the next episodes. It’s has a very diverse cast and it deal with just about everything from PTS, bisexuals, open relationships, Native Americans and having a brother with special needs. Please bring it back …ONEOF you better shows.

Great series with good plot, and a great mix if characters. All actors do a wonderful job portraying their characters. Love the show.

Stumptown is one of my favorites, in addition to both FBI shows, Seal team, the Rookie, both 911 shows Almost Family and Magnum PI. The fight for viewership is a big fish/ little fish game and ther loser is there viewer. I’m soon to be done with network TV altogether because cable is not as beholden to viewer twitch and that allows you to get involved in a show without the fear of investing in the getting the tug pulled from under you. I agree with so many of you that Stumptown is the most watchable new TV drama this season. It has everything: great actor chemistry, interesting and likable characters, great settings, great plots, great story lines. But what it seriously lacks are viewer ratings.
Less than 3 million viewers watch it every week first airing, and the 18-49 demo is always fractional.
I am afraid that this show is going to be canceled due to consistently low weekly ratings.
Stumptown is a fantastic, compelling story with a great cast that has fantastic chemistry that you don’t always see in season one of a show. I’ve seen interviews with them all and they’re all very relaxed and at ease with each other and joking around so you can tell they have fun together and have fun being on this show and they’re all quite devoted to it. Dex is an interesting character. Complex view on life requiring engagement with her past as she deals with the present. The story draws the viewer into wanting to have her life progress in to the future finding some degree on happiness and satisfaction.
Tantoo Cardinal is so great in stump town may stump have a second season
