Superstore is open for business once more. NBC has renewed their workplace comedy for a second season, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
The season one finale just aired last night.
Created by Justin Spitzer, Superstore stars America Ferrera and Ben Feldman as employees of a big box store called Cloud 9. Season one of the sitcom did fairly well in the ratings, earning around five million viewers per episode.
Earlier this week, we posted an interview with Spitzer about his hopes and plans for season two. The creator said season two could feature more guest stars.
Season two will feature at least 13 episodes, set to premiere later this year.

UNIVERSAL CITY, Calif. – Feb. 23, 2016 – Attention Cloud 9 shoppers: NBC’s Monday night comedy hit “Superstore” has been renewed for a second season.
The announcement was made by Jennifer Salke, President, NBC Entertainment.
“We’re thrilled to renew a show that’s incredibly funny and relatable, full of great characters brought to life by this incredible cast, writers and producers,” Salke said. “After such a successful first season, we look forward to seeing more of the wonderful America Ferrera, Ben Feldman and the rest of this hilarious cast in season two.”
Season to date, “Superstore” is averaging a 2.1 rating in adults 18-49 and 6.9 million viewers overall in “live plus seven day” results from Nielsen Media Research, making it NBC’s highest rated first-year comedy in two years. So far this season, “Superstore” is topping eight of the 10 other first-year comedies on the Big 4 networks in both adults 18-49 and total viewers.
“Superstore” also delivers a solid upscale audience, indexing at a 112 among adults 18-49 living in homes with $100K+ incomes (100 represents an average concentration of those homes, “most current” including L+3).
“Superstore,” which has received strong reviews for its laugh-out-loud stories about life behind the scenes of a big box retail megastore, features a cast that has been praised for its on-screen chemistry.
“Superstore” centers around Amy (America Ferrera), the megastore’s most stalwart employee as well as the glue holding the place together, and newly hired Jonah (Ben Feldman), a naive dreamer determined to prove work doesn’t have to be boring. Their fellow associates include the sardonic Garrett (Colton Dunn), the ambitious Mateo (Nico Santos) and the sweet pregnant teenager, Cheyenne (Nichole Bloom). Overseeing them all are Glenn (Mark McKinney), the store’s affable, clueless store manager, and Dina (Lauren Ash), the aggressive assistant manager who lives by a very specific code – namely the store’s employee handbook.
From the bright-eyed newbies and the seen-it-all veterans to the clueless summer hires and the in-it-for-life managers, together they hilariously tackle the day-to-day grind of rabid bargain hunters, riot-causing sales and nap-worthy training sessions.
“Superstore” was created and written by Justin Spitzer, who also serves as an executive producer with director Ruben Fleischer, David Bernad and Gabe Miller & Jonathan Green. “Superstore” is produced by Universal Television, Spitzer Holding Company and The District.”
What do you think? Are you a fan of Superstore? Did you watch the season one finale last night? What do you hope happens in season two?

Caught a manager at our walmart clermont with a question he was not ready to admit about returns ,, found out somethin secret cause he never was given company answer so he told me i was right! Shocking, i just observed and they never were prepaired!
I was a fan of superstore until I saw the actress that plays Amy in the nasty woman March the day after the inagaration of President Trump. I will not watch this show ever again. She should of thought of who her viewers are, and that would be middle America . That would be people that voted for Donald Trump.
Best sitcom on t.v., absolutely hilarious! Definitely hoping for season 3!
Why is America’s character, Amy’s name tag not match her name? Last week she wore Bobbie, this week she’s wearing Margaret. What’s up with that?
Play this show, it is funny and good. Can relate. Need to continue the show.
I think this show is hilarious. It is one of the few shows that actually makes me laugh out loud. I am not offended by any of the jokes regardless of my religion. The characters are really interesting. I especially like the white guy who talks like a rapper and rides his bike to get everywhere after he had a motor vehicle accident and thinks he is rich now because he settled for $5,000. Priceless stuff.
