NBC‘s new Wednesday night series Taxi Brooklyn has an unusual premise — but sometimes that’s what it takes to become a hit show these days. How’s the series been doing in the ratings? Will it be cancelled or renewed for a second season?
Taxi Brooklyn follows Cat Sullivan (Chyler Leigh), a tough NYPD Detective who doesn’t let a demotion to foot patrol stop her from trying to find her father’s killer. She finds an unlikely ally in Leo Romba (Jacky Ido), a taxi driver from Marseille. The rest of the cast includes James Colby, Jose Zuniga, Jennifer Esposito, Bill Heck, Ally Walker, and Raul Casso.

This police series got off to a lackluster start at the end of June with the first episode drawing just a 1.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 5.34 million viewers. The ratings have gone up and down over the course of the season but have trended downward. Last week’s episode hit a new low with a 0.7 demo rating and just 4.42 million viewers.
Ordinarily, numbers like these would mean that a show would be cancelled outright. However, NBC licenses this show from EuropaCorp Television so their costs are lower. While it seems likely that NBC will cancel Taxi Brooklyn, EuropaCorp could potentially produce a second season and find another US outlet to air it.

When I first heard about the premise to this series I thought it sounded really stupid but decided to give it a chance. I quickly fell in love with it. I really hope they renew it.

Please keep this show! It is one of the funniest drama series on tv. With all the reality crap on every single channel this is a welcome reprieve! Dont go the way of the Glades and cancel with a big cliffhanger! And Jacky Ido simply HAS to be on TV! He makes the show. Love him. Have some balls and keep a damn show on longer than a short season! Please bring back Taxi Brooklyn. My husband and I enjoy the series and would like to know how it ended. It’s terrible to not have a clear ending. It is a much better series than a lot of the TV that is being shown. Big mistake not to bring it back.

I will definitely tune into another channel to see season 2 if NBC doesn’t renew it. I never saw advertising for the show. I happened upon it one night and have since tuned in when I’ve been home to watch it. The season finale was awesome and I want to see more!!
Bring back Taxi Brooklyn!!! My husband and I always DVR the show and watch it later in the week. We enjoy the characters and the element of surprise and craziness in every episode. Please bring it back!
If the show gets cancelled, people like you are the problem. They don’t get enough money from advertisers to PAY for the show when everyone is DVR’ing it.
That is nonsense. Just because everyone is unable to “watch” at the scheduled time slot does not mean that there are not viewers and the advertisers are getting as much view time as those whose TV’s are on the program but during the commercials the viewer went to the bathroom or the fridge or to let the dogs out. That is such a lame excuse. If the program is being recorded, it should be counted in the ratings.

I’d like to see a second season. It wasn’t the best thing I’ve ever seen, but Jacky Ido was really good and the world always needs more Chyler Leigh and Jennifer Esposito. And the finale cliffhanger needs resolution.

Please bring Taxi Brooklyn back, you just can’t let it end that way, we don’t know if Cat’s mom for sure was on the ferry and what about Nico and Cat’s ex!!!!!! It’s a great show, you can do so much more with it, PLEASE bring it back!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t blame NBC for the ending. That was the asinine way the writers went because they couldn’t come up with a REAL ending. So they resorted to cheap cliffhanger crap. Absolutely RIDICULOUS to do when you have no idea if the show will be renewed. That is why GOOD shows never do that in the first season.
The season finale left viewers wanting more. This was a great way to end the show for the season and a very good reason for it to be renewed. I will be looking for more next year and will watch Taxi Brooklyn on whatever channel picks up the renewal. Taxi Brooklyn, Chicago Fire and Chicago PD are the ONLY shows that we watch on NBC.
We love this show. my husband and I record and watch it every Thursday it’s a ritual. You gotta make second a season. We gotta know what happened you can’t just leave us hanging…That’s not right….
We love this show! Chyler Leigh and Jackie Ido play off each other so well and while fairly predictable the pacing and action keep us engaged and looking forward to the next episode. I’m surprised by the ratings and hope that there is a Season 2. As others have said, you can’t leave us hanging like this!!!
Again…if you want multiple seasons then DON’T RECORD IT! The more people that record it, the less money they get from advertisers. And hey are not in the business to lose money
