The Goldbergs has already been renewed for a sixth season, but will that be it? Recently, creator Adam F. Goldberg spoke with The Hollywood Reporter about his hopes for the future of the ABC TV show.
Set in the 1980s, the sitcom centers on a family from Jenkintown, Pennsylvania. The cast includes Hayley Orrantia, Troy Gentile, Sean Giambrone, Wendi McLendon-Covey, Sam Lerner, George Segal, and Jeff Garlin.
In the interview, Goldberg revealed he wants The Goldbergs to continue beyond season six but the decision is ultimately up to ABC:
At the start of every season, I always plot out an arc for the family members, and there is no plan whatsoever for this to be the last year of The Goldbergs. I would go well beyond season six. All I need is the word that ABC wants it to continue.”
What do you think? Do you watch The Goldbergs? Do you want more seasons?
Do whatever it takes to keep this show on the air!!! There’s so much garbage out there the good stuff needs to stay! If ABC doesn’t pick it up, they have their heads up their butts (which they’ve already proven canceling The Brave already)
The Goldbergs is a funny show and with greats actors the writing is excellent. I think ABC should give Adam the chance to take the show and the characters into the 90’s.
I love this show! Hopefully it will continue!
