TV show description:
This comedy series follows an irresponsible grifter who ends up becoming the guardian of her young and wealthy niece and nephews.
Mackenzie “Mickey” Murphy (Kaitlin Olson) is a brash, two-bit hustler from Rhode Island who lacks any drive and is always in search of the next easy payday. She’s spent her entire life running from any kind of responsibility but she’s also smart and fun. She always has her head in the game. She just needs a big win.
Looking for a handout, Mickey visits her estranged sister and billionaire brother-in-law in Greenwich, Connecticut. Mickey gets more than she bargained for when her absurdly rich relatives flee the country to escape federal fraud charges.
This leaves Mickey to assume guardianship of their three high-maintenance and ill-parented children. Sabrina (Sofia Black D’Elia) is an ambitious, mature-beyond-her-years 18-year-old who’s a worthy adversary for Mickey. Chip (Thomas Barbusca) is 13 years old and is an entitled con-in-the-making with the arrogance to carry it off. Meanwhile, Ben (Jack Stanton) is a seven-year-old and an adorably fragile nerd.
The life and material possessions that Mickey has longed for are now within her reach — but nothing in life is free. She needs to transform these outrageously spoiled children into honest, hard-working, decent members of society – something that Mickey knows nothing about.
Being a mother was never part of Mickey’s game plan, but these kids desperately need a parent. And as irresponsible as Mickey has been her entire life, she may discover that responsibility and motherhood aren’t the buzzkill she always thought they would be.
Episode #37, “The Graduate”
Following graduation, Mickey and Alba (Carla Jimenez) discover that Sabrina is having second thoughts about attending Yale. In their attempt to sway her decision, Alba finds herself heavily involved at a Yale Alumni reunion event. Meanwhile, Chip is keen on re-branding himself before he starts high school, so naturally he decides to throw a party to prove his status. (Courtesy of FOX)
First aired: April 3, 2018
What do you think? Did you like The Mick TV show? Should it have been cancelled or renewed for season three on FOX?
Honestly think the low ratings were due to under advertising. My wife and I found it on Hulu recently and we’re hooked. Showed it to some friends and family and we were cracking up the whole time. Didn’t realize it was cancelled in 2018 though and was super bummed how it ended
I really enjoy watching the show. It is unpredictable and hilarious. I wish FOX would bring it back..
So upset! Loved the show. Please bring it back.
I live this show, it’s so funny! I laugh out loud so much, I can’t believe it ended after only two seasons. Wish it would come back.
Seriously? I will never watch Fox!
Omg, just finished this show and i cant believe they left it off like that. It is tipical of fox to do this, they did this to other good shows to. I didnt realize it was a fox show or i would have never watched it, i would have known it was a unfinished show. One of many networks i normally don’t watch because of this crap.
I LOVVVVED “The Mick”! I can only get one channel and it is Fox. ” The Mick” was my favorite TV show & now I have no reason to watch TV. I cannot afford cable so I guess I will have to buy the series so I can still see my show. “The Mick” should have been advertised more on radio & out in public. Kaitlin Olsen is so talented as well as the kids & her boyfriend, “Jimmy”. I hope & pray if you ever resurrect this wonderful show, I am the first you better let know it is… Read more »
