NBC has evicted one of its newest drama series. The network has cancelled The Village TV show so there won’t be a second season.
The Village stars Warren Christie, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Dominic Chianese, Darren Kagasoff, Grace Van Dien, and Moran Atias. The story centers on the residents of a Brooklyn apartment building. While it looks the same as countless others from the outside, what goes on inside is rare, to say the least. Everyone at the Village has a story to tell, be it about their hopes and dreams, or the challenges they’re facing. Together, they’re a family and family means everything — even when you are not related.
The first season of The Village averaged a 0.66 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 4.12 million viewers. The defacto series finale aired on May 21st.
Compared to the other scripted NBC TV shows of the 2018-19 season, The Village ranks 13th in the demo and ninth in viewership. The series saw a momentary bump in the ratings ratings when NBC moved it an earlier timeslot but it didn’t last and the numbers soon hit new lows.
Today, the Peacock Network also cancelled The Enemy Within and Abby’s TV shows.
What do you think? Do you like The Village TV show? Are you sorry that it’s been cancelled. Would you have watched season two on NBC?
Sometimes it would be nice to not always be about numbers. Excellent show !!!
The Village was one of my favorite shows. Please renew the series and The Enemy Within. Both excellent shows.
I think the show was really well done and totally set up for another season which I was looking forward to watching
My family loved “The Village”. So disappointed that the show has been cancelled. What is NBC thinking?? Bring the show back.
i POSTED this show canceled on face book and my friends all posted and all those friends posted all sorry you have canceled this show… awesomely real life situations with all the actors.. and you removed a show that spoke to many in real life situations… YOU MADE BIG MISTAKE.
I’m seeing the word disappointed alot. Count me among them. People are so used to watching crap, maybe they needed a little time to find The Village. I watch absolutely no tv in the summer. Literally nothing to watch. At 8pm i pick up a book every nite. Maybe they could bring it back next summer?
PLEASE BRING IT BACK!!!!!!!!
I LOVED THAT SHOW!!!!!
I had been watching 19 different shows on NBC for a number of years but I’m so pissed at them for canceling an excellent show like The Village that I’m doing some evicting of my own. I will watch only 6 now. This is Us, New Amsterdam, Chicago Med, Chicago Fire, the last season of The Good Place, and AGT when it’s on. Not even going to try any of there new shows anymore.
I’m very upset they cancelled The Village, my family loved that show.
There are some ****** shows on TV that shouldn’t be and thus one hit cancelled.
I’m so sad that they canceled this series!!! It was one of my favorite shows that I never missed!!! I recorded it every week!!! Please bring it back!!!! Very be choice to take it off!! Everyone I spoke to watched it so I’m shocked they took it off:(
I’m so disappointed to learn my show The Village isn’t returning for season 2. I loved this show. All the characters were so real and relatable. Ring it back please!!!
I am very disappointed that this show has been cancelled. It was so down to earth and the ones in the show were just like us and we could relate to their everyday life. It saddens me that i will not get to set back and relax this winter with one of my favorite shows. Wish you would have taken a survey before you cancelled it. Guess will have to watch another station.
I was disappointed that The Village series was cancelled. I watched the first season and I enjoyed the show, especially the older characters. There was ethnic diversity; a feeling of family/bonding between characters; and engaging story lines that reflected modern times.
It is unfortunate that in today’s television space there isn’t time given to series to find an audience. We wouldn’t have had as many great shows if this was the case even 10 or so years ago. I blame some of it on streaming; the need for instant gratification; annoying commercials; and just the way of the world.
I loved the Village they don’t have a lot of good drama shows on and it just makes me look for other TV series on other channels which is a shame I really enjoyed this series not much to watch now on NBC
I can’t believe you cancelled The Village?!? It was about Real Life and so many people could relate. That’s why people watch shows like this. I’m very disappointed. I was invested into these characters.
I agree, I am totally disappointed that they have cancelled my show I have invested my heart and soul into these characters and then you just cancel the series out the One season I am terribly disappointed in NBC
