Last week, we reported that TNT had pulled the plug on their DC Comics series Titans. Now, TNT chief Kevin Reilly has discussed why he passed on the show with The Hollywood Reporter.
Titans centered on Dick Grayson (a.k.a Robin), who leads a group of young DC Comics superheroes that include Starfire and Raven. The series came from Academy Award-winning screenwriter Akiva Goldsman.
Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, Reilly said Titans just wasn’t up to snuff:
Akiva [Goldsman] is a talented guy, [but] the script just wasn’t there. There is an unbelievable glut of superhero things in the market right now and if you have a really good one, clearly people are up for it. But I just don’t think that there’s a need for one that, for me, at least on paper didn’t seem to be screaming to get made.

After the screwjob TNT did on Babylon 5: Crusade, I am almost glad they passed on Titans.
I liked the show the writing was good – the characters were GREAT – the two main women interacted really well together – nobody seemed to need to be the center of it all. I liked all the characters – I think it’s really sad that TNT had a good show and they are really going to let it go for what? Because it’s run 100 shows – REALLY – well I’d watch 100 more if they were at this caliber of writing and acting so why not let them keep going instead of trying to find another show that… Read more »

OMG! Teen Titans!! ok, I’ll stop fangirling now.
Just as good. It IS, TNT. Either they screw it up or they do a real good job with it but cancel it after a season or two. Either way, we lose. Just let the CW handle it.
The Young Justice animated series would be a good place to start…
