What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the ABC television network, The Toy Box is a toy design competition, hosted by Eric Stonestreet. Toy designers present their concepts to mentors including Dylan’s Candy Bar owner Dylan Lauren, toy guru Jim Silver, and Pixar Creative Director of Consumer Products Jen Tan. If they pass the muster, they move on to the real test, kid judges Sophia Grace Brownlee, Aalyrah Caldwell, Toby Grey, and Noah Ritter. They will decide which toys will progress to the finals. After the season finale, the winning toy will be sold exclusively at Toys ”R” Us.
Season One Ratings
The first season of The Toy Box averaged a 0.63 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 2.88 million viewers. Find out how The Toy Box stacks up against other ABC TV shows.

Season two will debut on October 1, 2017, at 7:00pm.

Telly’s Take
This TV series can’t be very expensive to produce with Stonestreet probably drawing the largest salary. The prize is the chance to sell the winning toy at Toys ”R” Us. In addition, the Mattel toy company is one of the producers. The Toy Box is practically a walking product placement and airs early enough for all but the youngest children to watch. Still, the ratings have been pretty poor. This one could go either way but I suspect it won’t be nabbing a second season renewal. Show should definitely be cancelled! These kids are horrible, especially obnoxious Noah. What a horrible example of how kids behave.
I would like to see another season myself, as an inventor it is very inspiring to see another avenue to help inventors try to get to market with something they created.
This show is awful. Obnoxious kids, Boring mentors. Ughhh!!
This show sucks
The Toy Box should definitely be picked up for another season. Just seeing the new toy inventions is inspiration to get kids back to playing with each other and away from all the electronic devices that have been filling so much of their time together.
Amazing fun for the whole family! Gives inventors a chance at making a child’s life a whole lot more fun. Love this show.
