In October, NBC decided not to order any additional episodes of the low-rated series, Trauma, essentially canceling the show after 13 episodes. Then, a few weeks later, NBC ordered three additional installments, likely because they anticipated holes in their spring schedule and the show’s producers were able to significantly cut production costs.
The show’s been off the air since November but the network has now announced that it’s coming back. Is there a chance that the show could actually see a second season?
Taking place in San Francisco, Trauma follows a group of first responders who risk their lives to save others. The cast includes Derek Luke, Cliff Curtis, Anastasia Griffith, Kevin Rankin, Aimee Garcia, Billy Lush, Jamey Sheridan, and Taylor Kinney.
The network recently announced that they were cancelling The Jay Leno Show as of February 12th. That means that, when NBC finishes airing its coverage of the Winter Olympics, the network will have five more hours of primetime to fill. That’s good news for Trauma.

NBC has announced that Trauma will be returning to Monday nights starting on March 8th. They’ve also just ordered three additional episodes, bringing the season total to 20. That means that there are 10 new episodes of Trauma to come.
If the new episodes of Trauma can attract significantly more viewers, the show might have a very good shot at being renewed — especially if the show can continue to be produced economically.
At the recent Television Critics Association winter press tour, Angela Bromstad, NBC’s Primetime Entertainment President, didn’t rule out the show having a future and the new episode order is certainly promising.
However, NBC has plans to beef up their pilot development for next season. The network will develop 10 dramas and eight half-hour comedies. For Trauma to get a spot on the 2010-11 schedule, the low-rated series will have to inspire more confidence than the new shows.
What do you think? Do you think Trauma has a real chance at survival or is it still doomed?

please please dont cancel tramua i love this show…One of the few
good ones on tv besides all that reality ********……..
Get rid of some of the reality shows(most of them look rather stupid anyway) and keep Trauma, and do more shows like it .
Thank you
Mary Ann
PLEASE bring Trauma back!! It is an excellent show and really pulls the viewer in. Great characters, great show…WHY do all the good shows get canceled. I agree with one of the other comments; too many good shows airing at the same time…GET IT TOGETHER and spread out the shows, with most everyone having DVR’s we can record them at any time slot and watch at our leisure, however most DVR’s can only record 3 programs at the same time, so when the major networks put the programs all on (say Monday) the same day the good ones get cut…Like… Read more »
Please please bring Trauma back! I will really miss it if it goes away for good!
Glad to hear that more episodes are coming back. But now what will you do since the blonde is playing on “Royal Pains”? That makes it rather hard to continue a second season, unless she will play in both shows. I vote to get the show back up and running again. I miss it very much.
My husband and I love the show give it chance!
canada 10-01-2010 Well first let me thankyou for a great show. I feel that this show is good for the public to see and watch for many reasons. One the show shows how people should deal in a emergency and how not to react in an emergency, also it is great for the paramedics to watch as well. Love the show and would greatly sign what ever petition to keep it on air, many medics love this show and many sorts of audience members enjoy it as well. Please put Trauma back on, can only imagine the next few seasons… Read more »
IF you cancel i will be broken hearted! :(:::: please keep the show!! i live it.
Please, DO NOT CANCEL this show! It is one of the best, and my husband and I were searching for it this season. We look forward to each episode…..great storyline and action!
If the television critics would stop putting so many shows on at all the popular time slots, that are on Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, the these new series that come out would have a chance to survive. I’m sure that alot of viewers would agree with me, that some of these shows could air on Wednesday nights, and saturday and Sunday nights. Seems a waste of tax payers money and the actors time to get into character just to have the show canceled because the ,”quote on quote” critics feel the show is’nt making it. They are’nt the ones… Read more »
