What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the WGN America cable channel, Underground stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, Jessica De Gouw, Alano Miller, and Christopher Meloni. The cast also includes Christopher Backus, Marc Blucas, Reed Diamond, James Lafferty, Amirah Vann, Bokeem Woodbine, Aisha Hinds, Jasika Nicole, Michael Trotter, Jesse Luken, Sadie Stratton, and Robert Christopher Riley. In the second season, John Legend will guest star as abolitionist Frederick Douglass. A historical drama, Underground follows the heroes of the Underground Railroad who harnessed every bit of their wits, strength, and grit in order to escape slavery and live as free men and women. In season two, their fight for freedom continues, even as tragedy strikes.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Underground averaged a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 567,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 40% and down by 43%, respectively. Learn how Underground stacks up against WGN America’s other TV shows.

Telly’s Take
At the beginning of the season, I thought that Underground would be renewed because of its ratings. Now that Outsiders has been cancelled, it’s looking like WGN America wants to get out of the scripted series business. I have a feeling this will be the last season for the series, at least on this channel. I will keep an eye on the ratings, my ear to the ground, and will update this page when I have news to share. season 2 was garbage! All over the place! I was a huge fan but I hope it is cancelled they need better writers.

Sure hope it survives, i truly look forward every week to Outsiders and Underground. WGN is making a Big mistake if they cut these programs.
If Underground is cancelled, I probably will not watch another show on WGN.
I HOPE IT’S NOT CANCELLED. I HAVE WATCHED EVERY EPISODE 2-3 TIMES IN SAME EVENING. THIS IS A MUCH BETTER SHOW THAN SOME THEY HAVE SYNDICATED AND BEEN ON FOR YEARS.
would like to see a third season. have watched every episode 2 or 3 times on each night. it is better than most shows still on the air that have been cancelled and syndicated now for years.

It’s a great show and very educational to all young and older.
Please RENEW Underground for season 3. This is the best show on television. Not only do we get a history lesson but we get the lesson through the experiences of characters that are so real that it is hard to believe they are acting.

Well no offense I loved underground,but I will be not able to watch it any more .Since they took off outsiders We from Pittsburgh will not be watching anymore wgn.They build up there net work in real ya in .Boom they take your shows off that you like and put stupid ones in.Come on wgn.
