What’s This TV Show About?
Airing on the WGN America cable channel, Underground stars Jurnee Smollett-Bell, Aldis Hodge, Jessica De Gouw, Alano Miller, and Christopher Meloni. The cast also includes Christopher Backus, Marc Blucas, Reed Diamond, James Lafferty, Amirah Vann, Bokeem Woodbine, Aisha Hinds, Jasika Nicole, Michael Trotter, Jesse Luken, Sadie Stratton, and Robert Christopher Riley. In the second season, John Legend will guest star as abolitionist Frederick Douglass. A historical drama, Underground follows the heroes of the Underground Railroad who harnessed every bit of their wits, strength, and grit in order to escape slavery and live as free men and women. In season two, their fight for freedom continues, even as tragedy strikes.
Season Two Ratings
The second season of Underground averaged a 0.19 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 567,000 viewers. Compared to season one, that’s down by 40% and down by 43%, respectively. Learn how Underground stacks up against WGN America’s other TV shows.

Telly’s Take
At the beginning of the season, I thought that Underground would be renewed because of its ratings. Now that Outsiders has been cancelled, it’s looking like WGN America wants to get out of the scripted series business. I have a feeling this will be the last season for the series, at least on this channel. I will keep an eye on the ratings, my ear to the ground, and will update this page when I have news to share. So sad!!!! I loved the show and couldn’t wait for next season. The show is great, full of drama and excitement. How can they just leave you hanging after last season without any type of finally? I just don’t think a network should just drop a continuing story 2in this manner, and it makes me very hesitant to watch any other continuing series on this network.

Please, Please bring Underground back, if WGN does not want to air the program, Could BET or TV One, pick up the show? This was a perspective show that showed, the movement of how, slaves escaped using the underground. at least a general idea, what it was like. I don’t recall any movie, where Harriet Tubman was the main character… Please return..Thank you.

Without a doubt ! Underground should definitely return for a third season….Why would they cancel the show? Im devastated .
