It turns out that Unforgettable didn’t live up to its name. CBS has cancelled the police drama after one season on the air.
The TV series revolves around Carrie Wells (Poppy Montgomery), a female police detective with an unusually detailed memory (hyperthymesia) that helps her solve crimes. The cast also includes Dylan Walsh, Michael Gaston, Kevin Rankin, and Daya Vaidya.
Unforgettable started out the season with a 2.9 rating in the 18-49 demographic with 14.09 million total viewers. Over the course of the season, the drama’s ratings declined. At the end of the season, they fell as low as a 1.8 demo rating with 9.45 million viewers.

The season ended up averaging a 2.3 rating in the demo with 11.3 million viewers. While the total number of viewers is impressive, the demo number (and its decline) is not. CBS already has several other shows that deliver lots of viewers but the advertisers gravitate towards the younger demo.
On our CBS Ratings Report Card, which measures the relative success of shows on the network, Unforgettable has a “C-” grade and is #15 on the list of CBS scripted shows.
If CBS wasn’t doing as well as they are, Unforgettable might have been renewed for a second season but, as it is, CBS cancelled the show instead.

CBS sucks!!!!! I will never watch this channel again. First, it was Ghost Whisperer, now it’s Unforgettable. I hope CBS goes down the drain, where they belong. No matter what, I’ll never watch their station again. I will never forget Ghost Whisperer or Unforgettable, two of the greatest shows on television. CBS- I HOPE YOU ROT!!!!!!
Come on, are you kidding? They keep renewing the Kardashian’s and they take this show off. Please get rid of that no-talent family and bring back this great show. I am so angry at CBS – really!
this show is great. I love all of the characters in this show. I want to know who killed her sister. I want to know if the couples work out. I love that she can remember everything and the flashbacks.

very ridiculous. you get rid of a show that has high viewer ratings, all for the reality ****.if it wasn’t for Hawaii five-o id stop watching cbs. I certainly hope someone comes to there senses and picks up this show like what happened with southland or flashpoint.
Every loyal viewer resents when one of their faves is dropped. But even so, what a shame.
Terrible decision, I would rather not watch many other shows (reality TV ). This Was a great show, with creative writers. Even 11 million viewers are good.

I am very, very, very sad that unforgettable is not going to be around for another season. It was a great show. I agree with Holly who wrote a comment on May 15th, all the good shows get cancelled while the not good shows get another season….
Is there any way to appeal this to Julie Chen? They recently had Poppy Montgomery on her show “The Talk” and it was a very good interview. When Poppy said they were back filming it sounded like they were given a renewal and no one alluded to the contrary about it.
Julie Chen’s husband owns the network right? So surely there is something she can do about it, if not is there a way to appeal to another channel about picking it up like PAX did for Flashpoint?
CBS sucks, it was an entertaining, much better than all that reality show nonsense, chelsea and GCB were fun to watch as well, but their networks cancelled them, is it a consensus among network mgmt, cancel all the good stuff, keep the rubbish????
I cannot believe CBS canceled Unforgettable. My husband and I really liked the show. We DVR’d the show when we knew we would miss it. I hope they change their minds. Loved the show. Good acting. I like Poppoy’s character:(
