What’s next for The Walking Dead? Recently, the cast and creators discussed the future of the AMC TV series, Deadline reports.
The zombie drama, which is currently in its seventh season, stars Andrew Lincoln, Norman Reedus, Lauren Cohan, Chandler Riggs, Danai Gurira, Melissa McBride, Michael Cudlitz, Lennie James, Sonequa Martin-Green, Alanna Masterson, Josh McDermitt, Christian Serratos, Seth Gilliam, Ross Marquand, Austin Nichols, Austin Amelio, and Tom Payne. AMC has already renewed the show for an eighth season.
During a recent panel at PaleyFest, executive producer Scott M. Gimple revealed the end of season seven will mark the end of one chapter and season eight will mark the beginning of an “epic tale to come”:
No, the end of this season is very much the end of a chapter. It’s very much a conclusion that promises this gigantic, epic tale to come. … The first episode [of Season 8] is, I think, less about [the fact] that we reached 100 episodes; it’s more about setting up the next 100 episodes.”
The season seven finale of The Walking Dead is slated to debut on April 2nd.

I love the crazy in the show. It shows how some people would act in real life if something like this ever happened. I love that some people keep on having hope to live on and help others but at the same time keep there eyes open to the bad that surrounds them. Can’t wait for more season’s of TWD.
I have never missed an episode. This is the best show on TV. And it’s not a Zombie show, it’s a show with Zombie but there background characters.
I quit after season 1, but know others who still love it. Keep it going for them. Doubt I’d know anybody if I watched it now.
We need more zombies. We need more blood. We need more action. Season 8 was full of promises but nothing has been delivered. Having thrilling episodes as (mid)season premieres or finales is just not enough
Didn’t you mean season 7? Season 8 will be in October of this year.
Still watching but not as happy w/the new premise… I loved it more before they added all those new people…. and now the main characters are hardly ever in the shows. Hope next season they go back to the orig. cast & get rid of a lot of those newbies.
