TV show description:
A psychological thriller, this TV show is based on the best-selling series of books by Blake Crouch.
Secret Service Agent Ethan Burke (Matt Dillon) drives to the bucolic town of Wayward Pines searching for two missing federal agents. One of the best Secret Service agents in the Seattle office, Burke is the man who knew missing agent Kate Hewson (Carla Gugino) better than anyone. They were more than partners — their relationship nearly destroyed Ethan’s marriage.
Everything changes when a truck slams into his car… and he wakes up in the Wayward Pines Hospital. The intense and unpredictable Nurse Pam (Melissa Leo) is at his bedside. It soon appears that Pam is more interested in harming than healing however. She and Ethan soon grow into deadly rivals, and her role in the town proves much deeper than anyone realizes.
Among the other residents Ethan meets are the mysterious Doctor Jenkins (Toby Jones), the psychiatrist who treats him at Wayward Pines Hospital; toymaker Harold Ballinger (Reed Diamond); Beverly (Juliette Lewis), a bartender who is as wary of Wayward Pines as he is; and Sheriff Arnold Pope (Terrence Howard), who takes offense at a Secret Service agent showing up on his turf.
Meanwhile, Ethan’s boss, Adam Hassler (Tim Griffin), attempts to update Ethan’s wife, Theresa Burke (Shannyn Sossamon) with the latest news. After arriving in Wayward Pines, Theresa and Ethan enroll their teenage son, Ben (Charlie Tahan), in the town’s only school. His teacher, Megan Fisher (Hope Davis), provides key information about the town’s origins.
Ethan’s continuing investigation only turns up more and more questions, and each one leads him to the most important question of all: What’s wrong with Wayward Pines?

What do you think? Do you like the Wayward Pines TV show? Do you think it should be cancelled or renewed for another season?
I also loved this show.. I have a question…How do we encourage the continuation of these programs? Can they become Web Series?
If the tv series had stuck with the book trilogy, they could have had 3 seasons. I loved the tv show until I read the books. They completely ruined the tv show. If you really want to know what happened in Wayward Pines – read the books.
I agree with all the above… I too would like to know how all these Reality TV shows stay on the air. I’d love to see all of them go away and replaced with programs that have good stars, and intriging plots… such as Wayward Pines, and several others that I’ve seen on the cancelled list.
I don’t know of anyone who has been contacted by the “Nielsons” They have never contacted me or anyone in my family. Nielson is wrong. WP should remain!
I’ve been following Wayward Pines, and hoped that it would come back for another season. I’m really sorry it was dropped. The show was entertaining and kept my attention. It was obvious that something was different about Wayward Pines… I was hoping for a different ending. My husband thought that we’d find out that Wayward Pines was a settlement on a new planet… not earth. And that future shows would have the residents searching the planet for additional colonies.
What a clever idea- very creative and a good way to keep the story going.
Read the book trilogy!! You will not be disappointed, and you will find out what really happened in Wayward Pines.
really? cancelled? why the only good thing on fox gets cancelled?
What’s up with TV in the 21st century?….you watch a series…get into it, and POOF, it’s cancelled? I guess the only ones who make out are the greedy corporations!!!!!!! Like anyone cares about “the people”……I’m beginning to really hate TV……what’s the point if you can’t watch what you enjoy!
I respect your passion for the show (I am a huge fan as well) but don’t see how canceling it would translate to a “greedy corporation” winning over “the people”. An “us against them” mindset can have value in some settings but I’m not sure it’s a good fit for this forum. Let’s get the series back based on fan dialogue that the network can seriously consider. Thanks.
I loved this series. I want to encourage Fox execs to chsnge their decision and bring us Season 2.
I really hope the execs will change their minds and bring back Wayward Pines. It was a good show that kept you guessing and made me want to tune in the next week.
You could bring back Matt Dillon in some manner of explanation that he survived the elevator explosion. HIRE ME for some creative ideas!
So, I ask those in programming to reconsider their decision and BRING BACK WAYWARD PINES!
Thanks for your time, Grace
Agree with Laura (below) …. do they even include those of us who loyally taped/DVR’d Wayward Pines, as we are working/busy during the hour it was one? My family looked forward to watching it every week! It was our FAMILY’S FAVORITE SHOW! BRING IT BACK!!!
i liked wp but at least they ended it well. and i agree with david williams with respect to reality shows. i watch 4 faithfully & it certainly isn’t “wives of [whatever city]”.. i liked this show because it showed humanity is doomed to destruction because of our own destructive behaviour. the show ‘revolution’ had the same type of message.

yes I believe there should be a second season I like to show it’s exciting and I keep you thinking what is going to happen that this is a good show and please bring it back on-air thank you if not I will be pissed
Do they even include people who can’t make watching the show live because they have to work? I personally watched ever episode after came available on hulu. why are they cancelling all of the good decent original shows.
Wayward pines was a an absolute sit on the edge if your seat kind of show. It definately should be renewed for a second season.
Matt Dillion was an excellent portrayer of a lost soul awakened amongst new Wayward Pines generational hopefuls. I was disappointed to see his ultimate sacrifice.
Hopefully M. Night Shyamalan can resurrect Matt Dillion character.
Gutted wp has ben canned! ………loved it!
Wayward pines is one of the best tv shows in years.
If Fox doesn’t renew they are not giving the viewers what they want. RENEW THIS SERIES it is worth it.
If Fox doesn’t than, AMC or TNT should to teach Fox a lesson and take it over.
I’m tried of the ridiculous reality tv shows, that have not substance to them. They teach the younger generation improper behavior.
I agree with everything you say this is a very good TV show and I like the comment you made about the children and a TV show
Wayward Pines was one of the best TV series I’ve ever seen. I couldn’t wait ’til Thursday nights to watch it and it just kept getting more and more exciting. Judging from the comments so far, I’m not the only one who loved the series and wants it back. But–you need to find a way to bring back Matt Dillon as well! He did a fantastic job as did all the actors on this exciting series.
I agree completely. I so looked forward to Thursday night just to see this show…so much so that I watched it “live” with ads instead of recording it for later viewing.
