It sounds like the Whitechapel TV show won’t be back for a fifth season. Lead actor Rupert Penry-Jones, who plays DI Joseph Chandler, broke the news via his Twitter account: “Sorry to be the bearer of bad news everyone but ITV don’t want any more Whitechapel. That’s all folks x.”
A detective drama, Whitechapel airs on BBC America here in the states but the cable channel has yet to announce when or if they will air the fourth season of six episodes. That batch finished airing in the UK on October 9th.

Loved this series. Loved the characters and the actors who played them. It was a dark, edgy show with plenty of gory, supernatural themes. One Question: Why did you ever cancel it?? There were many of unanswered questions. In reading the replies here, I see that there are many people who feel the same way. Please, if possible, bring the show back for at least one more season

just watched all of whitechapel…….really enjoyed it……you should have done a 5th at least to finish it properly instead of leaving us all hanging…..not impressed with you BBC

Bring it back please! I don’t normally watch tv series as there are often too many episodes. This was perfect and I loved the content.
Maybe it ws cancelled because it was getting too close to real events.
I loved watching whitechapel n have watched them agen over time. It is a brilliant crime show with great acting and amazin characters. Please bring it back!! I need it in my life. I need 2 know about the old women and would like 2c the DI meet a lovin partner x

I began watching Whitechapel this past week and came to enjoy the series and the characters. What will happen to the old lady and will DI Chandler overcome his demons? Will there be a season five?
I’ve just binge watched Whitechapel and it was amazing and so gripping. Fantastic cast, writing and plots. I’m gutted to here there’s no more to come as there are so many unanswered questions.
Why cancel something so good?!
Just watched all 4 seasons of the show again as both my husband and I enjoyed so much (he does not do ‘series tv, more thand 2 episodes). So disappointed that a 5th season never materialised to at least bring it to a conclusion. My opinion, brilliantly written, cast and executed with effects, direction and all that compelled me the first time round and again.
If you change your minds, it would be amazing to see a finale 5th at least….
I so enjoyed White chapel. I was/ is a great series. I am looking for, and hope not disappointed to watching season 7.
I watched every season of whitechapel. It was one of the best police series i ever watched. So sad there will be no season 5! Maybe fans must start a crowdfunding campaign? Because one of the reasons was that ITV did’nt want to buy a new season. That is what i heard in the news!
it was a great show by the time you are into it they cancel it. they should let you know like hulu you are going to be left hanging. that its not a complete series. ITV are idiots good show.
