Young Sheldon has some new company. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Annie Potts has joined the upcoming CBS TV show.
A spin-off of The Big Bang Theory, the single-camera sitcom follows a nine-year-old Sheldon Cooper (Iain Armitage) as he grows up in East Texas. The cast also includes Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Raegan Revord, Montana Jordan, and Jim Parsons as the narrator.
On Young Sheldon, Potts will play Meemaw, Sheldon’s “foul-mouthed, hard-drinking Texas grandmother.” The role is portrayed by June Squibb on The Big Bang Theory.
Young Sheldon is set to debut on CBS on September 25th at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT.
