Bones: FOX Series Renewed for Seasons Five and Six

BonesFans of the Emily Deschanel/David Boreanaz series, Bones, won’t have to worry about their show being cancelled for awhile. FOX has just given the series a two year renewal.

Bones is centered on an unlikely alliance between an FBI agent (Boreanaz) and a forensics anthropologist (Deschanel) and her team. The rest of the cast includes Michaela Conlin, T.J. Thyne, Eric Millegan, Tamara Taylor, Michaela Conlin, John Francis Daley, Patricia Belcher, and David Greenman.

Considering that Bones’ ratings are strong, its seemed odd that the show hadn’t been renewed until now. According to Variety, the holdup was over a common topic these days, license fees.

To no surprise, the FOX network and the show’s studio, 20th Century Fox TV, are owned by the same company. While you might expect that that would make things easier, it actually made for longer negotiations. There are other profit participants involved so there was extra due diligence to make sure a renewal deal reflected the show’s true market value.

When the negotiations were finished, Bones executive producer Hart Hanson confirmed the news to fans via his Twitter account. He later wrote, “Thank you BONES fans for your response to our pick-up. Thank you so much. We are all so gratified. We love working on our show. Thanks.”

The show is expected to return in the Fall and FOX will announce its 2009 – 2010 schedule on Monday.

I have watched Bones since the first episode and worried for a year or two if it would get renewed. I am thrilled to hear that it has been renewed for two years. I have several co-workers now hooked on the series.

I’m looking forward to Booth and Bones reunion and desire them to realize that they are meant to be together and still be partners. They will be able to keep it secret in order to remain partners yet have time to enjoy themselves as lovers. It will be quite interesting to see how they still time and be as cool as they were……

I LOVE BONES! There just is nothing else to say about Boothe & Bones, because they are perfectly made for those two roles. The best series EVER! I keep referring them to Booth and Bones, but it is David & Emily! You two are “THE BEST!”
Please keep the series going for as long as them two would want because anyone else put in their place would not do!

Bones is one of the few series that can hold its own against anything you ask: it is a comedy show par excellence… its a sci-fi par excellence (most of the high tech science that is used is sci-fi to most of the viewers) … its a grade 1 crime drama…. its an amazing interpersonal interaction piece between characters… its a\wholesome and and it has great nutritional value… Leave it on for at least 10 seasons…. It is the JAG of the new age…

The TV series Bones is a brilliant show! Actors are all first rate, scripts well written! Bonaraz’s acting is impecable. The whole ensemble of characters/actors are well developed. Humor, drama, personal emotions and action is well interweaved with science. My question, has this program won any awards? The intelligence and depth of this program needs recognition!!!!
