Year-to-year, the season debut of Dancing with the Stars was down by 9% in the demo and viewership (vs a 3.5 rating and 18.79 million).

Reference point: The Monday editions of the Spring 2012 cycle averaged a 3.0 rating in the 18-49 demographic and 16.95 million viewers.
