The A Discovery of Witches TV show was a big hit on Sky One in the UK and Ireland and did so well on the Shudder, Sundance Now, and AMC Premiere streaming platforms, that parent-company AMC Networks decided to simulcast the first season on BBC America and AMC. While the series has already been renewed for a second and third season on Sky and the streaming services, how will it do on the US cable networks? Will season two of A Discovery of Witches be aired on AMC and/or BBC America? Stay tuned.
A supernatural drama, A Discovery of Witches stars Teresa Palmer, Matthew Goode, Edward Bluemel, Louise Brealey, Malin Buska, Aiysha Hart, Owen Teale, Alex Kingston, Valarie Pettiford, Trevor Eve, and Lindsay Duncan. The fantasy BBC America and AMC love story is an adaptation of the first volume of the Deborah Harkness All Souls book trilogy. The story unfolds at Oxford University, in a world where witches, vampires, and daemons pass as humans. It centers on Diana Bishop (Palmer), who has been trying to avoid her family’s witchcraft legacy. When she stumbles upon a bewitched manuscript in Oxford’s Bodleian Library, she falls headlong into a perilous mystery and in the sights of the mysterious geneticist Matthew Clairmont (Goode), a vampire.

This series, A Discovery of Witches is AWESOME! Finally! A show that my boyfriend loves just as much as I do! We stumbled upon the 1st episode. It came on after something he channel surfed. We saw the trailer during that show & decided to to stay on the channel and watch it. We loved it so much, that I immediately set the DVR/Set Top Box to tape the rest of the season! I love it.. I read the trilogy and enjoyed the story (too much unnecessary location describing) the tv show gets right to point. Please air season 2 and season 3 on AMC.

I look forward to as many seasons as we can get. It’s so fun to have a show with some interaction between the characters other than non-stop violence. You can’t help but hope for Matthew and Diana to find a way around their predicament.
The show strays a little from the book, but damn is great in its own right! Goode and Palmer are both brilliant! They really bring the passion and nuances from the book to life on screen. Fantastic! I can’t wait for season 2!
I loved the first episode. I look forward to watching this show. It seems like it will have suspense, supernatural, romance and an intelligent perspective of supernatural, medical research and history. It looks there will be some family values and relationships explored.
